Qual é, Dadinho...?
Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!

Multi Counter/Mime with a limitbreak such as Ungarmax or Omnislash... ;)

Simple? dunno about that. The Materia combinations you could pull were extremely powerful and exciting... I loved it. I somewhat liked FF VIII's draw system, but I the only time I used any magic from my stock was during fighting Omega and Ultimecia (you know.. triple, meltdown, aura, here we go!)... it was a true pain to use in any other time. It's a mjaor flaw of FF VIII. Otherwise, the system was good. Ah, and I agree on the angles.

I agree with Soriku. FFVII's battle system is simple. Even the materia was simple, but it's still alright.
May I add that FFVIII has the best soundtrack and FMVs, imo.
@soriku, don't play FFX-2. It's pure sh1t.

Even though you didn't like it, you have to admit that the battle system was very good.

Quad cast and W-summon Bahamut Zero and then go make a sandwhich. It was pretty effective before you get Knights of the Round, but it took for ever to do.
@Outlaw
X-2's battle system sucked just like the rest of the game. The charging up to use an item was dumb. The switching between classes instead of having some benefits spill over after mastering a class was down right retarded. And I hated button mashing to get max damage on that one classes attack. The battle system was just as bad as the rest of the game.
@People defending FF8's atrocious battle system
Why do you people hate using magic spells? Do you not like fantasy in your Final Fantasy games? I guess I just got mislead by the title of the game. No magic means shit battles!
uh.....no. if SE wont do a remake for FFVII, the best of the series, why would they do one for one of the worst? Although the idea of a fixed junction system is very promising i dont see it happening before ffvii remake.
FFVIII rode on the coat tails of ffvii's success. many thought it would b continuing the story......they were very disappointed.Yet i must say, after years of hating 8,now that i actually understand the story i appreciate it much more(Ultimecia/Rinoa) but the whole they knew each other as children thing is still stupid.
PS. and the best choco theme is FF IX's......PERIOD!!!

and while i love the whole ffvii soundtrack, Vemo Flenco from ffix kicked ass along with a few other select songs in ffix.

I agree with 10 although the rest is different.
10>9>12>7>8>6
8 wasn't that bad, but it had some of the most frustrating and tedious systems. Drawing sucks but I liked the Juntioning of spells. How I wish though that they made it learned not drawn. Other than that I would've had a blast with it.
Edit: FF8 theme song blows every single FF theme song out of the water. Although in Dissidia Squall's JP voice was.... too heroic... :S

Yup did that when I finished the game with no Lvl up. How should I say this, it was much more easier? For me it felt easier since I don't die! I got meltdown easily in the earliest parts of Disc 1. I think that was the best junction for HP....
Although if you were playing it on ur first try. You'd be more focused at drawing from monsters since that's the first thing you know. Cards are so vast that you try to convert them and it turns to an item you don't know.

100% Agree!!!
