Forums - Gaming - Square Enix Reveals‭ ‬Eidos‭ Takeover ‬Bid

If I am reading the news right, short of Time Warner making a bid, this seems like it is going to go through.

Now T-W has had some interest in getting back into the game ... so it might do something like that. But $125M is nothing to sneeze at right now.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Bad Step Square stop trying to become a western dev company...fucking idiots keep to your roots your ROOTS

Hmm... they've not been there in a long time. There's been no new Death Trap since 1985, and they've done nothing with titles such as King's Knight or 3-D Worldrunner. And while Rad Racer did get a sequel in 1990, it's been almost 20 years even for that series. I think their actual roots are long gone...

Eidos owns Legacy of Kain IP if I am right. This one IP already justifies this purchase. There is so much they could do with LoK universe.

For example: ruin it with Final Fantasy influences.

Huh? What does Final Fantasy have to do with LoK?

Absolutely nothing.  What Gnac means is, Square Enix will ruin The Legacy of Kain game with references and influences of their other games.

SE =/ EA of the old. With that said, they won´t ruin Eidos IPs, like they haven´t ruined Taito IPs. You don´t see any RPGs from Taito or any Space Invaders Final Fantasy. Unless they abruptly change.

Really? And how is that going to happen I wonder? Considering that FF dev teams are all in Japan, and will not even get to talk with anybody from Eidos.

I wish more game devolopers took the approach they did with Legacy of Kain and Soul Rever 2 seperate games but intertwined storylines. I just want them to give me an ending so I can finally turn the page.

You sure the own it entirely? They haven't made a sequel since Crystal Dynamics left them.

I deeply and passionatly say no to this.

I do not wish my Lara to be turn based or Narumaped.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

The Official Huge Monster Hunter Thread:

The Hunt Begins 4/20/2010 =D

Didn't Square Enix recently cite losses by Taito as one of the reasons for their annual losses this year? Wouldn't another bad company just magnify that?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
