hey congrats on your purchse.

If you really want 3 games that are out now I recommend:

1. Uncharted Drake's Fortune (Great single player experience)
2. Resistance 1 and/or 2 (Good single player and great online experience)
3. Killzone 2 :) Had to mention it

I've never played LittleBigPlanet but I've only heard good things. Valkyrie Chronicles is good (I've played the demo) but it doesn't seem very re-playable and I don't think its online.

People keep suggesting shooters, but if you're at all a fan of platformer/adventure games, get Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.....you won't be dissapointed.

I'd suggest having a look at Hot Shots Golf 5 aswell, because it has a very deep Golf system (arguably the deepest of all Golf games released on next gen consoles), but is very beginner friendly aswell and just lots of fun especially with other people (local/online)

Just stop paying for live for online multiplat games. The PSN is free. And is better. No lag or anything. Only game I have seen lag in is Bad Company.(probably more me then anyone else. I was far from my router)

Congrats. I recommend Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Warhawk, Resistance 2 and Valkyria. Folklore is also pretty good.

K2, Uncharted, Fallout 3, LBP, Valkyria chronicles, either Resistance, GT 5 Prologue, and lots of others. PS3 definatley has a solid lineup.

i'm gonna buy multiplats on 360 mainly because my friends all have 360's. But if that truly is a fact that they dont lag cod4 might be a purchase i will make for ps3. And ill definately get devil may cry 4 on the ps3 eventually because apparently its better than the 360 one

thanks for all the suggestions guys. I have finally settled on 4 games to start with. Uncharted,killzone 2,valkyria chronicles and rachet and clank.

Congrats, all really good choices. About the lag thing- Sony's own games have dedicated servers which means virtually no lag. But then something like Call of Duty or any multiplat with online is going to be pretty much the same on both systems.
