Is this even a serious question? Master Chief has had cybernetic and biological enhancements. His bones are unbreakable, his reflexes are 10x as fast, his strength is enough to toss a 22 ton tank 15 yards into the air, his speed is 5x as fast, he has been trained in stealth, hand-to-hand, and all weapons combat since he was 5 years old and recruited by the UNSC, he has experience on more varied battlefields including space and zero gravity zones, he has more experience using different vehicles (if we are allowing vehicles and armor), where a Covenant wraith or Banshee could demolish a Rex.

Clearly people saying that Snake would win do not know the back story of the Master Chief.

Master Chief hands down, no contest.

PS What is the point of this thread when in order to make it "fair" you have to say that if MC has it, Snake gets it, and vice versa. If you want to strip them down to just a rag and hand-to-hand, the MC would still win because of his body enhancements. If you want to strip him of his body enhancements and Snake's as well, it would be a tie because they both have had extensive training in every area, but taking away MC's body enhancements, would be changing who he is. A direct comparison without these "changes" would show MC would win in every situation.

And what about Master Chief's horde?  It's probably about twice the size of Snake's seeing as how the franchise has sold twice as much.

The same happened during 360 launch, I'm afraid.  I think in general they would match up to being about the same type of individual, so there would be strength only in numbers, which is on the Master Chief's side.

IMO Snake would win. Snake always fights against these odd-abnormal-beyond human villains and still manages to find a way to defeat them. Master Chief is no different to some of the villains =P

As much as I love Snake i'm going to have to go with Master Chief. Why might you ask? Well it's quite easy. They are both similarly trained. Snake even with CQC wouldn't be able to take down chief because he's too large, weighs too much and has too much armor. Second of all, Chief is much older and and still stronger than Snake in his prime. Third of All, Chief has state of the art stealth technology and the guy exists in a time where centuries beyond Snake (Around the 2500's) so think of all the training techniques they would've figured out and trained him with by then. The guy is also a genetic freak. I could go on and on and on as much as I love Snake as a character, to vote for him over Chief is stupidity.

Just try to explain one way in which Snake would have an advantage, here

For every 1 person who likes halo, there are 2 that hate halo. For every 1 person that hates MGS there is .005 people who hate MGS. So we will have far more people on ourside aiding us then you would :]

If you are considering Snake to be normal, then Master Chief is no different.  He is basically a Snake that has been enhanced and improved even more.  Plus, Master Chief faces thousands of enemies with vastly superior technology in all terrains and still wins, not 50-100 human soldiers in a city environment with plenty of cover spaces.

MC wins.  Keep your arguments coming, Snake fans.  I'll shoot them down all day with the MC's greatness!
