Great to see that Activision-Blizzard found some success on Wii. Hopefully Nintendo fans will continue to see their support in the coming months.

World of Warcraft is damn huge. I read somewhere the revenue of this game is half of ActiBlizz' revenue.
@soriku
well thats what people claimed whenever PS3 got highest revenue
so why not with the wii too.
But I am shocked they made a LOSS
looks like Konami is one of the few 3rd Party publishers that made a profit.....thanks to Metal Gear as they said themselves

Absolutely, it's obvious the console with the highest revenue would make them lose the most money. |
Oh but it is ok to blame the ps3 for the losses of Bioshock devs, when the ps3 brought in the most revenue. And Konami have done well, which they put down too the strong performance of mgs4
Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!
Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st ![]()
@soriku
what terrible reasoning
Konami which has made a profit claims MGS helped the most & we know MGS4 sales are the biggest part of the "MGS" sales they claim

So whats the difference?

Folks please note this: by GAAP (generally accepted accounting practices), Activision Blizzard made an enormous profit of 429 million last quarter, beating analyst expectations.
The loss comes from deferred revenue. Activision deferred some of the revenue they made this quarter to the succeeding quarters to streamline their figures and not make it look quite so much like an enormous jump in revenue for one quarter. An example: if a company makes 10 billion a year, and all 10 billion of that occurs on January 1st when subscription fees for their product are renewed, they will commonly defer revenue throughout the year so that their revenue is 2.5 billion per quarter. People dont like seeing 10/0/0/0 when they look at their FRs.

I'm guessing the revenue figure is skewed, as alot of the %'s are from World Tour, which sells for what, 3x or 4x a normal retail game? And it was their biggest seller of the holiday / year I guess (Aside from maybe COD).
Not a clue how much profit they make on every Guitar Hero World Tour box lol. It's hard to get much out of these numbers though when the best selling game was at a retail price so bloody high 0_o.

It's totally possiblke.
Assuming the Wii's dev costs were the highest.
Which seems like a backwords assumption.....
but if they were...
Totally possible

Of the three home consoles, the Wii is the cheapest to develop for, and by all accounts we've seen, it is the cheapest by a wide margin. Of those same consoles, the PS3 appears to be the most expensive to develop for. The 360 is close, but most accounts seem to suggest that the PS3 is more difficult to code for, and thus requires more time invested.
So, if you have the PS3 on top of the revenue pile, this is the scenario: it is the highest selling, but also the most expensive. Could they be making a profit with this? Yes, possibly, but we don't know because the "most expensive to develop for" part could be cancelling out the "highest revenue" revenue part.
If you have Wii on top of the revenue pile, this is the scenario: it is the highest selling, and also the least expensive. Therefore, by pure logic, if any of the three systems are making them money, it would be this system.
The one exception would be major exclusives for the Wii, but since Activision doesn't have any of those, that's an irrelevant consideration.
