So whats the difference? |
Of the three home consoles, the Wii is the cheapest to develop for, and by all accounts we've seen, it is the cheapest by a wide margin. Of those same consoles, the PS3 appears to be the most expensive to develop for. The 360 is close, but most accounts seem to suggest that the PS3 is more difficult to code for, and thus requires more time invested.
So, if you have the PS3 on top of the revenue pile, this is the scenario: it is the highest selling, but also the most expensive. Could they be making a profit with this? Yes, possibly, but we don't know because the "most expensive to develop for" part could be cancelling out the "highest revenue" revenue part.
If you have Wii on top of the revenue pile, this is the scenario: it is the highest selling, and also the least expensive. Therefore, by pure logic, if any of the three systems are making them money, it would be this system.
The one exception would be major exclusives for the Wii, but since Activision doesn't have any of those, that's an irrelevant consideration.
