r u guys forgeting that L&D is an EXPANSION and not a whole game. It requires that gamers still own GTAIV to play it. In case u havent noticed, gamestop has GTAIV by the shelf loads used. Majority of them returned are from the 360 by 3to1 margin. unless you believe ppl are going to run out and REBUY GTA back, the dlc will only do average.

i say invest $ in new games rather then dlc(that could of been on the disc). Killzone is def the better investment.

so the only people that can buy used games are those that have owned it previously?

You still fail to mention KZ2 multiplayer.

How many FPS you play that have more than an 8-10 hour campaign?

Your really trying much too hard.

You're asking me to compare KZ2 multiplayer to the new Lost and Damned Multiplayer components.. yet as I replied in my last post, I don't know what those include..

Can you say that Lost and Damned Multiplayer will not include 100 of hours of multiplayer?

Sony - $50 million

MS - $50 million
L&D Campaign - 10 to 12 hours
Expension #2 - ??

As a gamer I would say MS!!!

More like:

KZ campaign:

9 to 12 hours

KZ multiplayer:

hundreds of hours.

Sony wins.

Really? You plan on playing KZ2 for hundreds of hours? Ugh. Good luck with that.

I don't remember but didn't Rockstar announce that Lost and Damned came with its own MP?

Anyways, got to go.. I'll check up on this later if no one else as looked it up, I'm a little curious about it!

calling KZ2 a 9-12 hour game is a distortion of the facts, you know it's a distortion of the facts and that makes you a fucking idiot.  the only one crying here is your mother having to know she raised such a huge failure.

my reply clearly states "campaign", I'm not distorting anything.

And as I mentioned, I don't know enough about the expension multiplayer aspect to comment on it right now. I'm not even sure if Rockstar even released the info yet.

I guess you can be angry at me for not knowing EVERYTHING about 360 games.. I'm sorry to dissappoint!

Anyways, I got to go again.. be back in a couple hours and then I'll look up some Expansion info and will reply back here!

@mr bubbles. i somehow highly doubt that a new swarm of consumers are going to be interested in GTA because of some dlc. At this point. if u like GTA, u bought it already, then returned it out of disappointment. So the DLC audience is shrinking...
-must have gtaiv to start with
-only for 360 usersbase so not accessible to the millions of PS3 /PC owners of the game.
-most have returned the game already.
-must pay for it.

yea, there r a lot of barriers for this dlc to overcome.

Sony - $50 million
KZ2 campaign - 6 to 10 hours of an immersive, fun and technically brilliant game

MS - $50 million
L&D Campaign - 10 to 12 hours of an overrated and very boring game

As a gamer I would say Sony!!!

ROI is a measure of return from a specific investment. The question is, who spent their money better? The question asks of Sony and Microsoft, not the gamer. Assuming each company spent $50 million on said products, the question is this:

Which will will probably gain the highest ROI (return on investment) from their expenditure?

I don't think the DLC, in my opinion, will net that much return (or profit) since they had to lay out $25 million for each of the two episodes.

Killzone 2 will certainly generate a lot of revenue, but will it make a significant profit? I would highly doubt that KZ2 will "only" cost $50 million to develop, market and distribute. Halo 3 was right there once the blitz of marketing was all said and done... I assume KZ2 was a significantly larger undertaking that Halo 3 was in terms of development. The question is, does Sony go all out on the marketing?

In the end, unless KZ2 flops (it won't), the ROI will probably be much larger when all the dust settles.

We won't know for a while, though...

I hate trolls.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.

Considering how.....the DLC didn't come out till almost a year afte GTAs release, I don't see it setting the world on fire. If every DLC pack was PURE profit, it'd still need to be downloaded over a million times to break even......but we know that's not the case, and breaking over a million will be a feat, if it reaches that point.

And considering that KZ2 is a new game that is severely hyped with great reviews....and GTA was a disappointment that came out almost a year ago that most people have returned (I surely did return my copy)..the DLC seems less and less likely like it will make a return for how much it cost

Maybe it will, maybe it won't. How is GTAIV multiplayer community looking these days? I have no clue but unless it is still looking quite healthy I doubt KZ2 MP has anything to worry about.

You may not know what the GTA IV DLC multiplayer contains, but that does not mean it allows you to completely disregard the fact that Killzone 2 has it and we do know what is included, we also know it is of top quality.

We are talking about a game that will almost be 1-year old compared to a game with HUGE hype and releasing in 2 weeks. I wonder which will be played more online.

Hmmm...

Edited KZ2 campaig length

Most sources put KZ2 single player campaign at 8-10 or 8-12.  You're thinking of Gears with the 6 hours on the low end.

And, ok, you compared the single player times.  What about the value including the multiplayer and how long you'll play that, considering that most sources say KZ2 multiplayer is great and so it's probably of high value.

As a gamer, I'd say definitely Sony, and that most gamers simply couldn't see eye to eye with you on this one!!!
