a.l.e.x59,

No I shouldn't. But even so, I barely play video games now. I just don't have enough time any more.

Man, I didn't think it would be possible to disagree more with this list...

Completely and totally wrong.

That's just because you would rather have the franchises get a revision, than for them to end. In that case, I agree with you. I don't want any of those franchises to end, I just want them to start getting better again. But if that's not going to happen, then they might as well end. Next time, clarify why you do not agree with the list.

If you don't like the new games, don't play them. Personally, I still enjoy the Pokemon games.

Just because I don't play some of the newer games does not mean that I cannot make a post about them.

I think you misunderstood me. I'm saying that if you don't like the new games you don't have to play them.

But I want to play them. Not all of them are bad. You don't know if they are good or not until you play them.

Tomb Raider definetly.

And Mario for god sake (the little plumber has been milked to death).

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow... Mario? No way... No way... Mario has shown absolutely no signs of aging... At all... Milked to death? That's Sonic, and Crash, but not Mario. Too many of his games got wonderful reviews. I mean, sure, some people didn't like Super Mario Sunshine, but that's just one game. And even so, it's still one of the greatest platformers of all time, only being topped by Rayman 2: The Great Escape, and Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal, for games only of the previous generation, by reviews in www.gamerankings.com. I loved Super Mario Sunshine, and New Super Mario Bros., and those are the only two, new Mario platformers after Super Mario 64. In total, there are only 10 Mario platformers, including Super Mario Galaxy, and I still want more. Mario is going nowhere but up. Unless you are talking about his spin off games, than that's a different story. Even so, Mario sports games are refreshing after having nothing but piles of other crappy sports games. Mario is as good as he always was, and is one of those rare franchises, so old, yet still so awesome. Without Mario, video games would be missing too much.

I stopped reading when you said Bomberman. Granted the 360 version sucks, which tried to make it look all hardcore and realistic. But still, the original Bomberman guys? No way they can leave, way to sweet looking.

As for the original question? Eh, I say we could do without Sonic games. I mean I never understood that genre, run as fast as you can past the entire level? You don't even get to see what half the programmers did with the level, you just run past it all. I would hate to have been on the art design team for that game, all your work gets ignored :/

Then on your first trip to a new level, stop and look at everything, than after you've seen everything, then redo the same level, and race through it as fast as you can. Done! Was that too hard?

Bad franchises will die out naturally over time.

(And for the record, I like Donkey Konga. And Jungle Beat was fun too. I wish the new Donkey Kong Barrel Blast would support both the Wiimote and the congas.)

Sorry but Megaman was good!! It didn't get bad until X5 (though I thought X5 and X6 was ok)

In Mega Man's case, it's not so much that it was bad so much as the same.  After Mega Man 3, the sameness really started to creep in.  Then they did a wonderful job of reinventing Mega Man for Mega Man X -- and started pumping out sequels to it that had the same problem.
