Please don,t make threads like this one ok,be smart and wait till the game is closer to releasing then make comments like the ones you ps3 guys r making ok.how many times have the force of your own words come back to haunt u huh??just wait ok my other system owning brothers,and always remember play games,do9n,t make war.....GAME ON.

@ dejanne: I'd prefer it if you said specific names, because this comes across as if "you ps3 guys" (not even "sony fanboys" or something) means that every ps3 owner is claiming what the TS copied...

Every Tekken-loving Playstation owner must have felt a bit gutted when it was revealed that the Tekken series was also being ported to Xbox 360 this year -- another Playstation exclusive series to lose its exclusivity.

However, in an exclusive interview with Tekken 6 Project Leader, Katsuhiro Harada, which will be published in full later today, it was nice to hear that Namco still holds Playstation close to its heart. We spoke to Harada about why the decision was made to port the latest game in the series, and whether he regards Playstation as the number one console. Based on his answer, it seems as though Playstation 3 owners can probably expect a superior version of Tekken 6 to that of Xbox 360 owners.

The fact that Tekken 6 was the first arcade game to be released using the Playstation 3-based System 357 arcade board, and bearing in mind the developer’s 10 year history developing for Playstation, Harada told us that Tekken 6 was specifically designed for the Playstation 3.

“The game was programmed on PS3 architecture and specifically designed to make full use of the Cell’s SPU. So it’s going to be a big challenge to bring the game to the Xbox 360,” he told PSU.

We can also expect some cool graphical effects that will push the power of the PS3 to deliver intense visuals at 60 frames per second.

“After releasing Tekken 6 in the arcades, we developed an updated version called Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion. When we developed the update, we overhauled the graphic engine and created new shaders. In doing so, we had to make sure we could implement the graphic effects we wanted while still maintaining 60 frames. This is something that is extremely difficult to pull off, and there weren’t many examples in other games. Tailoring the programming to make the most use of the Cell’s SPU allowed us to achieve the results we were aiming for.”

Tekken 6 is due for release in Q4 2009. A precise release date has yet to be announced.

otherwise who really cares if the 360 version is less better due to say a character looking less vibrant or something stupid like that.


Your title contradicts the highlighted...

At first I figured you copy/pasted the title and that it wasn't you who came up with it.. but after reading the article, I realized you did come up with "360 likely to get inferior tekken!!!"

Or is the title (or the highlighted) sarcasm??

@ Baggins,,
about your FFXIII thing,,,, Star Ocean 4 is going to be released almost simultaniously worldwide (Translated to 1000 languages),, but FFXIII's translation from japanese will take 6-2 months ???? it's obvious that FFXIII on PS3 will be delayed outside Japan due to the 360 version (due to microsofts dealings)

There are several multiplat-games that look better on the Xbox360. That is the norm right now. Well now we hear from "PSU" that based on the answers it MIGHT seem that the PS3 version will look SLIGHTLY better. PS3 fans start to celebrate.

And LOL@ the game wouldn't fit on a DVD. Well GTA IV fit on a DVD (with a better resolution on the Xbox360 than on the PS3) so I wouldn't worry about Tekken.



Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

in the article PSU says "from his answer it seems like PS3 owners can probably expect the superior version of Tekken 6"

I'm just adding to the title what PSU assumed....which mind you is title worthy.....even then I wrote "likely to get" meaning nothing is definite

then in the end bit of the OP I gave my opinion on the matter...that I don't really care n many ppl won't later on

@ gebx: although the !!! do reveal darth's preference, they can still be interpreted as "omfg, who would've thought" (although only after careful examination, so fat chance for darth :p).

It's still extremely funny that you have now entered two threads to complain about pro-ps titles (one completely false and this one correctly), while you are the so-called "I merely post news..."-dude with nothing but negative Sony news :)
