i call shenanigans on this poll. part 2 had waay better genres to choose from than part 1. as such i demand that the final poll be rebalanced to take the top 2 from part 1 and the top 4 from part 2.

hmmmm....or perhaps I could make another poll where the bottom third, fourth, and fifth places of each duke it out for the two wild card spots.

Platformers, of course. Super Mario, Jak, Ratchet, Sly, so many great examples

Ok...so I know what we'll do. I'm going to take the third and fourth places of both the first two polls and put them in the next poll....that will leave two spots remaining.

I'm going to add to that poll the survivor/horror genre...

And if anyone can think of another genre that really should have been in the poll...I will add it in as well. So did I miss one? If so...make sure to get in here and tell me. And if you agree with someone else about a genre that was missing....make sure to say so.

If I get no suggestions (or they are just specific examples of genres...or overlaps) then next week's poll with just be a race against five.

As a suggestion, you might considering adding the Adventure genre, Action-Adventure doesn't cover it at all as they play very different. I mean what was once Graphic Adventure games like Monkey Island, Broken Sword, Kyrandia, King's Quest, Sam & Max, Myst and newer games like Syberia, Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy, Zack & Wiki and Phoenix Wright

i approve!

possible other genres: exercise, party/mini-game. eh, neither are probably important but there you have it. those are the last ones i can think of.

Cool...I'm glad we have found a easy way to get around the "shenaigans" of this poll...lol.

And here's a few more....non-games, edutainment.

Of course....I'm not going to worry to much about many of those genres, because they'd just be fighting for last spot anyway.

So have your say....which should be the final wild-card genre?

a. exercise

b. party/mini-game

c. non-game

d. edutainment

quite an epic battle for last place. i'll vote for b. party/mini-games just because i know it will annoy a lot of people to see that on the front page. xD

lol it keeps on going up and down between shooter and platformer. Go platformer!
