just wondering whether anybody knows if and when the dsi will get some kind off channel akin to the wii's nintendo channel? i'm not really thiknig about the videos it provides, but more of the players play stats it would be able to crunch. does the dsi save daily play data like the wii does? because it would have to have that first.

That'd be a cool concept, but I'm not sure. I don't think it has that but who knows, it may in the future.

That might be nice, but personally I'm in eager anticipation of a DSi virtual console, with the ability to tap the massive GB / GBC back-library, hopefully at a price of several dollars per title, if I had my way. Is there any news / confirmation of this coming? I've seen plenty of speculation that DSi Ware will be followed by a virtual console, but nothing particularly concrete.

hmmm, i thought this site would be more excited about this possibly happening because, well, we're a site that loves crunching numbers, and the nintendo channel was like the latest and greatest crack for us.

It would be cool if it did. But, I don't think it would be put in there either...

I forgot who it was, but someone on this site bought a DSi.........so you'd have to ask him if it has that feature. If it doesn't, well then we've got our answer.

No, the DSi does not have a Nintendo Channel. And, it doesn't save play data (or, at the very least, if it does there is currently no user interface for accessing that information).

So far I have downloaded only a handful of games/applications (about 5 total, I think) from the DSWare store, and still have a lot of internal memory available.
I, too, hope for a DSi virtual console, because I've never owned a GameBoy.
