not really.  thats pretty irrelevant here...as the discussion is about controls for fps.

Which is correct, but has nothing to do with this thread.....

Graphics aren't everything Zledjedi. Gears of wars had great beatifull graphics but it's controls turn me off.

Yes they aren't everything but find me a genre more depandant on them then shooters.

Personally I can only accept bad graphics in strategy or rpg.

 How do you know?

is the conduit even out yet?? and if its not out...how can you like its controls?!?

personally, i thought metroid prime 3 controlled like garbage. the whole game wasnt very good imo.

Nope Metroid prime 3 was a classic and the control where perfect. Ok, the first FPS where terribles on the wii but since Medal 2, Call 5 and Metroid 3, they finaly start to produce good FPS

I wrote this in another thread... I'm too lazy to see if it fits.

Sorry to crush all you 'K2 will be huge' people, but once you experience shooters on the Wii, going back to dual analogue shooters is impossible

(I say this)

 That's really narrow.

I've played a few shooters on Wii. I don't own a lot though, as I don't like the genre that much. I own Red Steel, MP3 and Disaster, I've played MoH2 as well.

I have just about the same control when playing James Bond: Nightfire with the GC controller (I play it as it is still better than most splitscreen games on Wii).

I can't see the big deal most people talk about. Sure, for the first 15 minutes after having played only the Wii controlled ones for a year, it felt abnormal. But then, it was a breeze again.

The mouse may > the Wiimote, and the Wiimote may > analogs, but that's only if you have the controls the same way. A multiplat PC/X360/Ps3 shooter will almost always have better PC controls. But 2 stanalone games (one on Ps360, one on PC) may be completely equal, because they have different control schemes.

I prefer the Wiimote to the GC controller, but it's not a huge difference.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

While that may be true, this is effectively only your personal experience; others will disagree with you and either insist analog is better or insist the Wiimote is a breath of fresh air. The more appropriate question is; which is more accurate (or faster (or just better)))? Once answered, it can be left up to others how they feel about the Wiimote.
It's like the graphics argument. Sure, the HD consoles are better, but, for some people, it doesn't make too much a difference. But the point is, the graphics ARE better, and, if anything, that's going to be a plus.

MP3, MoH2, CoD 5, and even the "worst" FPS games on the Wii have been awesome experiences for me. I am one of those people who will not play dual analogue FPS games. I own a bunch, but they don't get touched, with the exception of Metroid Prime's 1 and 2,  and real old school games like Goldeneye and Perfect Dark.

Otherwise, I have always played on the pc, where I feel  much less constrained in my movements, and free to tear it up.

The last few nights, I've been playing Quake 3 on the pc, before I log on to play CoD5, and all I keep thinking is "please, for the love of god, port this to the Wii!" I am seriously thinking about hacking my system to play the Quake 1 mod for the Wii.

Before this system came out, I was pretty much burnt out on FPS. Half Life (1 and 2) were all I could really stomach anymore, as I felt I'd pretty much done and seen all we were going to be able to do with FPS games, PC or otherwise. While I still kind of feel that way, there is something so immersive, and so fun about playing these games with the Wii remote and nunchuck, that I have completely renewed my love of FPS games, which astounds me. Really, my level of contempt for them had grown into a giant mass of gloopy, dark hate.

I cannot wait to play The Conduit, and I can't wait to see what else we get dropped on us this year, even if it's not "AAA" level gaming.

Now, I need to get MoH2 back from my brother in law...and maybe buy Quantum of Solace...and a used copy of Red Steel...

:D
