MP3, MoH2, CoD 5, and even the "worst" FPS games on the Wii have been awesome experiences for me. I am one of those people who will not play dual analogue FPS games. I own a bunch, but they don't get touched, with the exception of Metroid Prime's 1 and 2, and real old school games like Goldeneye and Perfect Dark.
Otherwise, I have always played on the pc, where I feel much less constrained in my movements, and free to tear it up.
The last few nights, I've been playing Quake 3 on the pc, before I log on to play CoD5, and all I keep thinking is "please, for the love of god, port this to the Wii!" I am seriously thinking about hacking my system to play the Quake 1 mod for the Wii.
Before this system came out, I was pretty much burnt out on FPS. Half Life (1 and 2) were all I could really stomach anymore, as I felt I'd pretty much done and seen all we were going to be able to do with FPS games, PC or otherwise. While I still kind of feel that way, there is something so immersive, and so fun about playing these games with the Wii remote and nunchuck, that I have completely renewed my love of FPS games, which astounds me. Really, my level of contempt for them had grown into a giant mass of gloopy, dark hate.
I cannot wait to play The Conduit, and I can't wait to see what else we get dropped on us this year, even if it's not "AAA" level gaming.
Now, I need to get MoH2 back from my brother in law...and maybe buy Quantum of Solace...and a used copy of Red Steel...
