I assume you know of the inside joke that only reviews that give KZ2 below an 8 are valid...basically this and Maxim.

If you are a reviewer, nobody cares about your opinion. Any retard could join, say, GameSpot, and give Zelda a 2 because "DURR IT MAED ME THINK 2 HARD!!!". Would that be okay? It's his opinion, right? Well, if he has an opinion which is different from the mainstream, he needs to review it like a mainstream person. I'm sure we could find somebody, somewhere, who would give Ocarina of Time a 6 and Haze a 10. He would be a crap reviewer unless he acknowledged that he had a strange opinion and switched those scores around.

Again, they're not fanboys, they're just ridiculously strict.

I really like edge, and I respect their reviews. They are one of the very very very few places that aren't reviewing games for the people who already know whether or not they are going to buy them. Most gaming sites and mags review games for the fanboys, edge is just reviewing the games. They are one of the most impartial reviewers around, which is why they get so much hate as "biased". If it doesn't fall in line with fanboy expectations then it is teh biased moneyhat. They are alot more harsh with games, but alot more honest.

PS3 fans, who are up in arms about this, edge has different scale! Also I find it pathetic that majority of you downplay Halo3 but if anyone downplays Killzone 2 or any gods gift to ps3......they are just biased fanboys. Sony fans aren't what they use to be. Good thing I am multiplatform owner now.

That's also a good point. In Edge 5 is average, everywhere else 7 is average. If a game got a 5.5 on IGN it would be hailed as crap.

I don't refute about their scale or even any particular score in general, the biggest issue I have with Edge is the fact that they are not consistent even when only compared with only their own review.

They gave Conquest a 2? They're not biased it seems, just stupid. They also gave Halo 3 a 10/10. I mean its a great game and all, but not perfect.

Wasn't Edge the magazine that admitted their bias for the 360 and basically begged everyone to buy one to save "core" gaming.
