OT: Demo is at 60% it's gettin there!

 

My post wasn't even negative , the only "negatives" were that while it is a great looking game it doesn't "kill" everything else out there and that the cover system blows.

 

What game do you think honestly looks better all around than Killzone 2? Not just textures either, I mean in terms of effects, explosions in the background, lighting, etc...


Overall i'd say that the best looking game is RE 5 which actually looks , AT LEAST IMO , like CGI . I'd say that KZ2 is a fantastic looking game and leave it at that. It's in the elite as far as graphics go.

I have not played it yet but I would say "without a doubt, yes". The lightning, particle effects, amount of mayhem going on around you, etc... just make the visual quality of this title stand above the rest.

This is how I honestly feel right now and I hope it is proven true in an hour and a half.

no MGS4 is the game to beat in grfx

as proved by all the best grfx awards it got

and yes its better than MGS4 in terms of graphics

From what I have seen in the RE5 demo, other than just character models, nothing in that game compares to KZ2. The lighting, mayhem in the background, partical effects, smoke + flags/drapery/etc responding to wind speed and direction, destructable environments, etc... alone put it way above RE5 in the graphical department. In my personal opinion it doesn't even come close.

That is the thing, "graphics" counts for more than just a shiny character model.

Of course though that is just my opinion.

 

Still, I am glad you found the demo entertaining.

I would't even say that gears 2 is the game to beat , for example far cry 2 is a technical marvel considering what it achieves. Anyway KZ2 has better effects , lighting and animation but worse textures and i doubt that it has the huge monsters that gears2 has (and which are quite impressive ). As for scale and number of enemies on screen both games seem similar .
