Forums - Nintendo - Just got my Wii back from repairs today!

it takes me normally 1-3 times to get brawl to work. I sent my wii in orginally to get it fixed on smash bros launch day because it did not read dual layer discs. (I got my wii 3 weeks after launch) Now the problem is coming up but normally a few reads will get it working.

Also my wii is extremely loud because of this problem.

meh nothing just childish humor. Sounds like you got an STD :P

CURRENTLY PLAYING:  Warframe, Witcher 2

the drive going bad might not have had anything to do with "your friend" dropping it on concrete would it?  =p

regardless, I definately have to say kudos to Nintendo for their customer service and support behind their system.  I myself had a drive that had gotten louder and louder and was buzzin like mad, BUT everything worked just fine.  (bought in Jan. 07, sent back in Feb. 08)

They sent me a shipping label and I sent it out and got it back good as new IN UNDER A WEEK, and no cost to myself.  Not only that, but when they do a repair...they auto extend your warrantee for an additonal year from repair date (regardless of purchase date).

pretty slick indeed  =)

They replaced your drive and your console's exterior shell?

.....hmmmm

Sounds more like Nintendo got your console, thought "holy shit!" when they saw the damage, and decided to replace it. :P

Just the faceplate the Wii itself is still the same, when I shipped it off I didn't have the GC port/memory card covers on the top and that's how I got it when it was returned lol and the white mark that I got on top of the system is still there :P  they just replaced the drive and faceplate nothing more lol

Actually it was playing Brawl when he dropped it and it kept on playing even though it just smacked the pavement (we were playing outside on my friend porch, and it's been over 8 months between him doing that and when the wii stopped reading brawl)

But even for the Brawl error they'll extend the warrenty?  SWEET!

Edit: your Wii was bought around the same time mine was and my Wii gave me the same issue, except apparently mine held out longer, it was kinda loud with WaW and with Brawl (until it stopped reading the disc) but most games were fine just a little hum was the most I'd get though it was a little louder then it was when I first got the Wii

When my Brawl used to boot up it was rather loud but other then that it never made much of a sound.  You should look into Nintendo fixing that for you, if they extended your warrenty for a year then you should still be covered :)
