Yes, it was just before E3.
He was pretty close. Cheers to all the doubters and haters. They just made us more credible again.
Wow, too bad VGchartz...
Ok, PS3 sold 180k ( by VGC) and 175 ( NPD)
But X360 was supossed to sell 136k here, and it sold almost 195k on NPD, thats no good.
Diomedes, y a ti que te lei diciendo que estos inflaban las ventas de X360 y hacÃan lo contrario con las de PS3 x'd
FishyJoe said: It's real! July NPD: Game Industry Soars to Nearly $1 Billion, Wii Tops All, PS3 Almost Matches 360 |
Well ,183K for the 360 so yes it has been undertraked
So ,360 undertracked by nearly 50K .
PS3 allright .
Wii undertracked by another 50K .
DS overtracked.
PS2 spot on.
PSP very close but a bit overtracked.
What I see is a wild difference in the software numbers .I mean ,for example the PS3 title we have seen that is the one that interest me the most ...NCAA Football did in the PS3 159 000 units only in July and the charts show it at only 125K at 18th August .....so the game charts need some adjustement .
PS:Luzillo si dije fue porque otros meses pasaba exactamente al reves ,daban los datos de 360 los de NPD y habia que revisar a la baja.
Time to expand to more stores, ioi, so you're sampling can get better. It appears the PS3/PS2 numbers were right on the money, but the Wii/DS/360 numbers suffered the big percentage differences, and the PSP/GBA were within a reasonable disparity.
Perhaps the stores you collect from don't favor the Wii and 360 much.

luzillo,
195k on NPD ?
I thought it was 170k ?
whatever if u dont like the VGchartz estimation numbers, fell free to leave the site ...
(lol, u just created an account for this ... I should not even answer u!)
Time to Work !
183k i meant, sorry ( counting Canada, libellule)
I just thought VGC was kinda more accurate , 50k difference is 2 much.
Don't answer me if you don't want to :)
Im not a troll or anything like that, i always trust VGC , but now i see this, and im like : WTF?!
That Wii number is simply gigantic! Remember, July is only a 4-week month for NPD, so sales were significantly higher than in June (a 5-week month). It's so strange to have a Nintendo that seems to be making all the right moves and knows exactly what it's doing. Is anyone still doubting the numbers in Nintendo's financials - which claim sales of 22 million by March 08, and likely ~19 million by end of 07?
Good news for the 360, which seems to have gotten a minor boost to hardware sales from the release of NCAA Football. Not so good news for the PS3, which still can't top the 360 numbers even with a $100 price cut. I do think the PS3 has a good shot to beat the 360 worldwide numbers in 2008 or 2009, but it's looking less and less likely that it will ever pass the 360 in America. By the end of 2007, the PS3 will only be even further behind in this market... For that matter, has the PS3 outsold the 360 in ANY month yet in America? To the best of my knowledge, it hasn't.
VGchartz hardware sales were quite accurate, software significantly less so. Wii undertracked (although less so when Canada is added in), DS overtracked, and everything else within about 10%, a good margin of error. The broad software outlines were pretty good as well (VGchartz had NCAA Football/Guitar Hero/Pokemon all among the top sellers) although the exact numbers were sometimes off. Some of you seem to want complete accuracy from ioi, even though this is statistically impossible to achieve from small samples, but I'm more than happy with what this site is providing.
End of 2008 totals: Wii 42m, 360 24m, PS3 18.5m (made Jan. 4, 2008)
