I still think that if they are even slightly considering some multiplayer game using the God of War universe, it would have to be an MMO. Anything else would just be.... retarded.

its the age of online, but im not sure how they can implement it into an hack and slash game. i think they probably mean cooperative play.

I kid I kid... although MGS4 Online isn't exactly fun in my book.  It's just not built right for a good online multiplayer shooter.  You move to slow, and it is a hassle to switch from third to first person, plus with everyone at different levels it is very unbalanced and takes like a million bullets to kill someone.  None of my friends with the game are still playing online....

My sentiments EXACTLY.  For instance - I think Black was one of the best FPS games of all time, easily better than Halo, Resistance, COD, you name it.  However, I feel like if there had been multiplayer (and it's one of the only FPS games without it) it wouldn't have been as good.  It wouldn't have killed a game like Black like it would God of War in my opinion, but it still wouldn't be nearly as good.  They have to change too much regarding the mechanics of the game in order to add multiplayer and, as you said, some games were designed to stay single player.  Theres no better example than God of War.
