It's too different a game to soil the reputation. It might anger some people and slow their "buy anything halo" willingness, but being an RTS should disociate the two in a lot of peoples minds.

Sorry to single you out in my rant, but am I the only one that is annoyed at comments that just say "this" or +1?  Would it kill people to say "I agree" or try to add something.  Is there a reason that word is so popular or everyone has to act like a statement is a D&D bonus?  It was clever years ago but it's becoming very overused, imo.  Perhaps I'm alone.

No, I don't think it would damage the name, as it isn't a main Halo game. Halo 4, when it comes, will be unaffected by any spin-off games, no matter how bad. Further, I'm pretty sure Halo Wars isn't going to suck -- competant, at the very least.

The worst that will happen is that the game is seen as milking the franchise.

People will be more cautious on what future Halos they buy that aren't built by Bungie.

Ensemble is probably one of the best RTS studios ever, so I doubt they will build a crap Halo RTS game. But anything can happen.

Of course it pisses me off, but these are children we're dealing with here! For God sakes man, don't let them see you sweat! The Halo name will be undamaged, even with a lousy fourth installment.

This "puny" RTS won't cause a dent. And looking from the vids I've seen, it looks to be a great RTS, albeit a tad "slow" (but that's maybe I'm used to the fast-paced Starcraft action).
