@ slimebeast, what are you talking about, having a game that can play on a great range of PCs so everyone can play it

In all Total War games, there are going to be thousands of soldiers on screen, certainly in Rome you could get about 8,000 individual soldiers on screen at a time, and each had their own animations, so it is hard to make all of them look incredible, but the videos of the sea battles look incredible with the amount of detail on the ships as they are shot, this game will look great

But Crisis chose a different path - higher sistem requirements which usually correlates with better graphics. I prefer that path.

Empire uses probably a slightly upgraded Rome/Medieval II engine, not a brand new one.

I hope the sea battles will look amazing.

How many players TW supports in online games?

Crysis has almost the same minimum requirements as Empire...

have you not seen Empire's screens? They're amazing! Easily the best bet for 2009 Graphics of the Year.

I have only played Shogun, so I can't answer you. But apprarently Empire will have 2 campaigns, 1 single-player, 1 online. It will also have several game modes for multiplayer, achievements, ranked matches and persistent career modes for online. They say that in this clip: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/44440.html?type=

I don't think the online campaign will be ready for launch, that is part of the reason for the delay, so they can lay the frameworks of that to be added in with a patch

Ah, God dammit, now I have to go and cancel my pre-order. Why, why in the hell does it have to use Steam? I don't have Steam and I don't want to use Steam nor do I want to install it onto my PC. They couldn't just give me the option to just buy the game and leave me alone with it.

What is so bad about steam, I have already installed it in preparation

Does there have to be something wrong with Steam for me not to want it ony my PC? I know I won't ever be using the service so it pisses me off that CA would force me to keep it on my PC just to run the game. Shame for me. Guess I just keep on playing Rome: Total War.

It might only be activation that it is required for, but it is a worth sacrifice to make for such a good game

I play all my games that aren't on steam through the Add non-steam game feature, so I can chat with my friends.

Lucky me for not being interested in the 19th century... I like or maybe even love Rome: Total War (my first and currently the only game in the series). Unfortunately I do have some interest in this, too.

Now, lucky it is because I hate Steam. Steam is DRM, DRM is bad. Simple as that. I don't care if DRM causes problems or not as that's not what I hate in DRM. What I hate in DRM is the restrictions. They restrict my rights as a customer.
