Forums - Nintendo - Let's Talk About Zelda Games in the Zelda Mega Thread

I wonder if there will ever be a time during Wind Waker's era when Link will have to retrieve the Master Sword to vanquish a foe, thus releasing Ganondorf once more.

I think it would create an interesting dilemma for the young (or maybe older...) hero. Retrieve the sword and release a great darkness into the world, or let the previous evil continue on it's destructive rampage.

When Phantom Hourglass was first revealed, I thought that maybe that would be one of the story elements in the game, but it never happened. But it's still a viable plot for that era. :3

(Yes, Ganondorf is my favorite video game villain of all time I can never get enough of his organ playing goodness)

Man I can't even imagine a threat being so terrible tthat it makes releasing Ganondorf seem like a good idea. It just doesn't seem like it would be an option.

Of course, I figured he was dead, not just sealed away, so what do I know.

Hmm... Very interesting way to look at it Nintendo_Fanboy

I think you missed the Minish Cap though. It is generally seen as the first one (before OoT).

So the theory is

Minish Cap > OoT > WW > TP > LttP

That makes sense. It also leads to a possible sequel to Phantom hourglass, in which you drain the water, and save Hyrule.

So.

MC leads to OoT. No real problem there. The problem is how OoT leads to WW. Unless we got some info in WW about that, we'll never get it, as there will never be a game between those again (assuming this TL is correct), because evil would have to win it, right?

This kind of reminds me that I have a friend who once told me, to my face, that Ganondorf was not one of Nintendo's iconic villains.

Still blows my mind.

Ganondorf is nice, it's the pink pigs in Windwaker that are the real main boss.

Did you guys not figure out how to kill them?

I figured that I'd make like the Bible and try to drown them, but it just didn't work! How does a pig that heavy float?

They're pure evil. How do you make evil good? Same way you make sad to happy. And how is that?

You hug them!

It'd be awesome if we get one Zelda that would fill in the gaps and visits all the different hyrules after Link "leaves".
So for instance, this Link starts after the Minish-cap as a sort of training-level like we are used to.

Through time-traveling shennanigans you end up during the great war... the one told in Ocarina of time by the new Deku Tree, the one that orphaned the Ocarina of time Link. You assist the king in unifying Hyrule (through a temple system again, fighting your way through the different races.)
After this, you are warped into the "sacred realm war". The one told by Raura while the OoT Link was stuck in the temple of time. You fail here to stop the evil of course.

You will also get to see the great flood happening... Failing here again to stop it.

Anyway, you end up visiting all the in-between spots setting up the decor for the other Zelda's. In the end though, you get to visit the end of both timelines. You recreate Hyrule as it was áfter the events of Phantom Hourglass.

And you create peace in Hyrule in the other timeline.

No doubt Nintendo could make this work. But it would be an awesome way of seeing all the different Hyrules recreated in 3D and in crisp-clear graphics. Wouldn't you like seeing Malon and Links Grandma in one game? Fight a double end-boss? The possibilities people!

In regards to how the pig can float:

Conclusion: the pig is a witch. Burn her!

I like the Zelda series but they can never actually keep me interested long enough to finish the game. I'm like 20 hours into TP.

Is your collection reflective of your experience?

Yes. I own Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time, and Twilight Princess.

I have played Phantom Hourglass (the worst Zelda game, imo) and Wind Waker.

I'm writing a theory on the zelda timeline I should have it ready and posted up by this weekend. It mainly involve the one link and evil link. Oh from what I remember been a while Aonumi dam butchered his name wanted to have the next zelda wii title was suppose to bring all the stories together and tie up the end. Originally TP was suppose to tie up all the lose end but instead was only able to do the beginning start like a prelude.
