From this list I'd say Mirror's Edge has the best chance, followed by Dead Space. Both were dissapointments in sales for EA. Bethesda can't even be bothered to provide a good PS3 version of the game, let alone a Wii one, Valve doesn't even have a PS3 version of L4D.

Clue #1:  It's one of the following games: Dead Space, Left 4 Dead, Fallout 3 and Mirror's Edge.  I'm going to rule out Left 4 Dead based on Gabe Newell denying any Wii project, despite loving the platform.  That leaves 3.

Clue #2:  Matt said "big IP" - not new IP with mediocre sales.

Clue #3:  The Oblivion Engine has been ported to Wii, as reported by IGN in '07.

"Today Emergent Game Technologies, makers of the Gamebryo engine powering popular current games like Oblivion and the upcoming Fallout 3, announced a version of the middleware is now available for the Wii."  http://wii.ign.com/articles/819/819586p1.html

As weird as it sounds, I think Wii is getting Fallout 3.

But I don't know, I still have a hunch it's Dead Space.  That is the #1 title on Matt's list.

I wouldn't doubt a Wii version of Fallout or another title in the Fallout/elder scrolls series.  And a third person shooter with IR is a no brainer.  Though for some reason I completely missed hearing this part when I listened to the podcast, I was packing up my Wii to ship it off today to Nintendo :'( (A few weeks what am I to do?  I got these PS3 games I need to play but the only one I can seem to really get into is Fallout 3) anyway before I ramble more, I'd love a L4D game on Wii it'd be awesome and Wii is all about friends and hey it's the zombie appocolypse bring friends ;)

- Conduit sales are very important to not just SEGA, but other publishers in general
- other companies are looking to sales of de Blob and Deadly Creatures to see how they will approach the Wii in the future

The above two comments do not make any sense. If publishers are indeed this stupid then they need to go out of business.

Call of Duty:World at War is selling very well on the Wii. I guess this title is going to be ignored like the sales of Nintendo's own core titles and the sales of Capcom's core titles, Resident Evil 4 Wii and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.

Call of Duty and Resident Evil are all huge franchises with established followings. I'm sure even some casual gamers would have heard of them, so their sales don't matter to publishers. It's encouraging, sure, but publishers aren't worried about whether or not bring their major franchises to the Wii.

They want to see what sales of new IP hardcore games can do. There haven't been too many of those quality traditional hardcore games on Wii. Well, No More Heroes was one, but that didn't go so well, which is why they're going to be looking at de Blob and Deadly Creatures.

The comments make perfect sense, considering the Wii isn't exactly loaded with million-selling quality hardcore games.

As a side note, I wonder what the Retro Studios game will be. It's gotta be a Nintendo franchise, why else would they be so excited about it, but which one?

# of games above 75 on Metacritic (including downloadable):

360: 241     DS: 144

PS3: 152     PSP: 126

Wii: 85

About Factor 5, i find it strange that we have heard absolutely nothing from them since the rumor ran amok that they were gone. Certainly if they were still alive, it would make sense to send out a message saying "rumors of our demise have been grossly exaggerated," or if they were dead, then former employees would be talking. Something, anything. But we have heard absolutely nothing.

Strange indeed. I say if they were working on a Nintendo IP (or Nintendo-published project in general) they probably weren't going to die. But why haven't we heard anything, at all?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

- Developer of ExciteTruck (Monster Games) is working on another game, (SPECULATION) may be be another ExciteTruck, WaveRace, ExciteBike, or some type of racing game

It definatly looks like 2009 will be a great year for the wii.

We already have a ton of announced games.

Still coming are Retro's game, Monster Games game, Renegade Kid's game, Factor 5's game.

Then we have the unannounced stuff from EA, Activision, Ubisoft etc.

Then we have the Nintendo developed games that haven't been announced.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

I hope Retro have revived Raven Blade. Would be cool.

I hope they're working on something new and exciting..

Left 4 dead would be awesomwem with the wiimote ^^

i was expecting a lil more info.... well, some info would be better

I would buy Dead Space and Mirror's Edge, and re-buy Left 4 Dead. I'm not getting my hopes up, but Valve said they'd be interested in making Wii games, and EA loves to put their stuff wherever they can.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
