Forums - Nintendo - Dang it! My Wii doesn't have sound

I got this error screen that says to refer to manual, but I can't find the manual :(

Since I got my Wii it's always had problems with the discs making this weird sound every time I changed one of the discs for a new game.  Does anyone know what's happening?

After the last weird noises it wouldn't display any sound....

Thanks in advance

Did you get an error code?

I heard about the disc drive making noise from discs.  There is a youtube video that shows how to fix it.  It is basically just some part that sticks down or whatever.  That should only be done if you don't have warranty and if you feel you can do it.  It didn't look that hard to fix and the video was pretty well done showing how to do it.  You could just call up their customer service (def if you still have warranty) if you don't feel like fixing the disc drive noise yourself).

If you got an error code, google "Wii error code ......" to see what it means.

But, it sounds like you might just have a rare bad unit. Might need to call Nintendo and get it replaced.

the disc sounding thing, I'm not sure but do you mean that you hear it stop spining?

But now the sound is working.  I just turned on the Wii after a while and the sound starting working again.

My Wii sometimes makes loud noises when I'm playing games, but I just ignore it.

Nintendo still doomed?
