Im not sure what was the point of this post?

The other guy talking about fps, they need wii motion plus, way too impercise.

The MotionPlus is an additional accelerometer that allows for true 1:1 movement, and is therefore for games other than FPSes, though there really aren't many to choose from in the first place. The IR sensor, the main component in FPSes, is already precise enough for FPS games. MotionPlus has nothing to do with it.

lrn2technology

its so not that precise.

but yeh it'll be good for golf games for example.

they better start doin more than just waggling in 1 to 1

Would you rather gestures? 'Waggle' isn't the problem, it's how it's used, Nintendo is victim to this also, compare the sword play in Twilight Princess to Suda51's No More Heroes.

Again 1:1 Motion has nothing to do with IR.

thats too bad

hated zelda bad example, i played it for two hours and put it on the shelf where its sat for a year.  NMH did have fun controls, just terrible game (to me i know its loved or whatever).

but yeh waggle is brutal in so many games, 1 to 1 will make hopefully people use it better

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

Hey Soriku, you got any info on Tales of Ten? I'll admit I didn't know about that one, but now I'm interested. When is the release date?

Crystal Chronicles are garbage

Lies.

Though TCB looks like a traditional FF. That won't be garbage.

we shall see.

ff has been a letdown for me for a while, last one i liked was revenant wings on ds.

so far cc to me has been the extra lame ff.

it could turn around tho you are right.

i will check em out, i wish nintendo had demos, woulda saved me a bunch of cash so far . . . (NMH, Boom Blox, Alone in the Dark, etc)

now im so wary to buy wii games its crazy.

Gamers who don't like Wii generally:

1) Grew up with 3D games.

2) Are males between ages 10 and 25.

3) Like you said, stick to one or two Western genres.

4) Aren't attracted to new or weird games.

Strange little games always attract me, Parappa the Rappa, Mario Paint, the first Sim City, etc. Nintendo has them in spades this gen, both on DS and Wii.

I'd point you in the direction of XBLA or PSN for weird and innovative games. They certainly outnumber the amount of decent quirky games on the Wii threefold.

I enjoy games in all genres except sports, racing sims and all but the best JRPGs. Additionally, I own the previous four Nintendo consoles but I don't own a Wii. I don't feel like playing Mario and Zelda again and I'm not really interested in "casual" games. Perhaps after the system has more games like World of Goo, Boom Blox and Zack & Wiki I'll pick one up but I have a few other systems to get before I can consider it.

The IR, or the pointer, is 1:1. The current waggle is not. The Wiimote has two motion sensing parts: The pointer and the accelerometer. The pointer is what you point on the screen, which is what is used for shooters. THAT is 1:1. The accelerometer is what calculates the movements in space, like the swing of a sword. It needs an additional one from the MotionPlus to be accurate. That's what I was trying to say.

I dont see it as hardcore gamers having an issue with the Wii.... I see it as HD gamers, do. PC gamers are among the "hardest" core, and they seem to be more open to the Wii.... I think it is just that the Wii success scares 360/PS3 fanboys. And since the number #1 genre on both consoles right now (more so on the 360) is FPS games.... that is why it seems like mainly FPS gamers trashing.

Also typically FPS gamers are graphics whores, again another reason for the Wii to not appeal to them.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Well I have 23 current gen games from Japanese developers and I really love JRPGs, but except for maybe Monster Hunter 3 (haven't played any game of the series) and the Tales games I don't think the Wii has a JRPG monster line-up.

I would even prefer WKC over many Wii JRPGs and I really wasn't impressed with WKC from the beginning. (I'm still not)

Nope, I love rpg, and japanese games in general and I still don't care.

And the PS3 doesn't have many (RPGs)...so I'm guessing you're not too happy with that.

But neither does the Wii or 360. What's your point?

@Pyramid Head

Technology doesn't make games better by any defacto, the games have to be good from the get go.

I used Zelda as an example regardless of if you or I thought it was good; the game exists and that the point of using it as an example is that the game was also developed by Nintendo who are the technology providers for the Wii platform, this is why it's a very good example.

Also I'm highlighting sword play as I said above, and at no point was your opinion on NMH needed because of this, if any opinion was to be shared on that topic it would be in regards to the contrast in sword play, which you agree on in your own way.. (because you seem incapable of being strait forward in your compliments even though this isn't a compliment nor insulting situation) that NMH had the better controls.

In the mean time yes, No More Heroes is pretty niche and I'm happy for you that you didn't enjoy it.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.
