Really? Why japanese are so freak?

Well the Japan situation is similar to the ps2 WW situation last gen.

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

Final Fantasy and DQ games have to be released on the weekend because too many people would skip work or school to play.

Just wait till the DQ wii comes out. That should roll some stores.

@RPG

I don't know it is still to be seen whether MH is big like pokemone only on handhelds

Very one sided haha.

And I think FF13 will help but Monster Hunter 3 on Wii is going to have a pretty big impact as well if not just as large. I mean that's going to move some hardware just like FF13. Both with probably have long lasting effects as well. Just have to see how it goes but will be quite interesting for both PS3 and Wii in 2009 for Japan. Don't see much going on at the MS front of things. Got Star Ocean and some multi platform games.

Really I think in Japan this year it's going to be the battle of Ps3 vs Wii and of course Monster Hunter 3 vs Final Fantasy XIII.

Methinks that people forget how big Halo 2/3 were/are in America, and the impact they made on productivity. Totally anecdotal, but when H2 launched, half of my local high school called in sick. A few radicals called in bomb threats to the school, and classes were canceled.

Very excited for DQIX in Japan...It'll be interesting to see how rabid the DS fanbase is for the game. Thus far, we've only seen 1 game breach the 1m sellthrough mark in a week in Japan..I wonder how far ahead DQIX will be ahead of Pokemon D/P on it's debut week.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Roffle, why is the first reply fanatical MH3 damage control? Fanboys that afraid of the game? It's probably going to be even better than I initially thought.

Anyways, for the PS3, after FF13...then what? Whats going to have anywhere near the impact to keep the PS3 even remotely relevant? Versus XIII? That's just selling to the same people.

Wii on the other hand seems to be building up...besides Monster Hunter 3 there's also Samurai Warriors 3, FFCC and then the motherload: Dragon Quest X.

@Claude
