Well they didn't announce any triple A core titles at all last year, so they should have SOMETHING this year... right? Right? They'd better! :p And I know it's not gonna be a Pikmin title, a Mario Tennis, or a Metroid, 'cos those'll get GameCube re-releases. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we never saw a new Pikmin released this generation.
Personally, I'd LOVE to see Nintendo finally bite the bullet and release some new iterations of their classic franchises already. And I'm not talking about all that Punchout and Sin & Punishment craziness. I'm talking about the likes of F-Zero, Starfox, Kirby, 1080, Waverace, Paper Mario... the games that their fans who've been loyal to them for generations WANT to see and play. Nowadays I get the feeling like they're not even trying anymore, like they're intentionally not developing these kind of games. Yes we have Mario and Zelda and Metroid and Smash Bros. Thank god. But what the heck about all the rest? I understand that the money's too good not to release last-generation-games with tacked on Wii controls, or casual minigame fests with development costs a fraction of those AAA core titles, but man. Come on. Personally, the only games I'm interested in on Wii this year (so far) are all 3rd party titles. The last 1st party Nintendo game I got was... err, let's see.... oh yeah Brawl. No wait, that's not even a 1st party game... -_-'

1. Pikmin 3 was announced--completely new for Wii.  That's in addition to the New Play Controls.

2. Punch-Out is NOT a game that fans who've been loyal to Nintendo for generations would love?  LOL!

3. The Jet-Skiing in Wii Sports Resort is supposed to be better than Wave Race, though I wouldn't mind a new WR, either.

4. New Marios and Zeldas are confirmed to be in development.

5. Now our problem is that the third parties are the 'only' ones with good Wii games announced?  XD

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I think that they are already making the mistake of waiting for things that nintendo never said. That was the problem of last E3. I won't have big expectancions anymore. I'll just wait to whatever Nintendo has for the wii.

I just hope we get a harddrive. Also so more grown up games but I know I am asking to much.

Maybe they're going to try to give 3rd parties some space to make money? I know that's what the other companies are hoping for and with all the 3rd party games coming out I really hope they get that space and the sales they need to ensure more quality 3rd party titles.

I dunno, I said wii racer as I could say something else.

But yeah I think that wii racer would be a good idea, They could do the dad+son add once again.

Yeah, Pikmin 3 is confirmed to be in development, and we'll likely see the announcement at E3.

Here are some franchises that I think have a chance for a new game being announcement at E3:

- Kid Icarus

- Star Fox

- F-Zero

Of that I think only Kid Icarus and Pikmin 3 will be shown at E3, and I highly doubt a new Zelda or Mario will be shown. So overall, I think it's probably going to be Pikmin 3, Kid Icarus, Sin and Punishment 2 (if it hasn't released yet), and a third party game focusing on MotionPlus that will be highlighted at their conference. Oh, and some new game that takes advantage of the DSi, too.

Even if only half those games are shown, it's still a better conference than last year, right?

# of games above 75 on Metacritic (including downloadable):

360: 241     DS: 144

PS3: 152     PSP: 126

Wii: 85

As long as people don't get overhyped, go into the conference with astronamical expectations only to be disappointed, bitch and scream on the internet, then get blown away by the Fall conference a few months later while patting themselves on the back under some deluded impression that they had something to do with that. For the 3rd year in a row.

The key thing is that, like others were saying, Nintendo acknowledged their mistake, which means they really know they screwed up, because Nintendo's never been one to acknowledge public outcry over any of their controversial decisions/bonehead moves.

I would bet on Pikmin 3, the Retro Studios project, the Factor 5 project, and the Monster Games project. Now, what precisely each of those are, i don't know, but that is what they'll show, if anything. E3 is the ideal venue for these top-secret games.
