| Cheebee said: Well they didn't announce any triple A core titles at all last year, so they should have SOMETHING this year... right? Right? They'd better! :p And I know it's not gonna be a Pikmin title, a Mario Tennis, or a Metroid, 'cos those'll get GameCube re-releases. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we never saw a new Pikmin released this generation. Personally, I'd LOVE to see Nintendo finally bite the bullet and release some new iterations of their classic franchises already. And I'm not talking about all that Punchout and Sin & Punishment craziness. I'm talking about the likes of F-Zero, Starfox, Kirby, 1080, Waverace, Paper Mario... the games that their fans who've been loyal to them for generations WANT to see and play. Nowadays I get the feeling like they're not even trying anymore, like they're intentionally not developing these kind of games. Yes we have Mario and Zelda and Metroid and Smash Bros. Thank god. But what the heck about all the rest? I understand that the money's too good not to release last-generation-games with tacked on Wii controls, or casual minigame fests with development costs a fraction of those AAA core titles, but man. Come on. Personally, the only games I'm interested in on Wii this year (so far) are all 3rd party titles. The last 1st party Nintendo game I got was... err, let's see.... oh yeah Brawl. No wait, that's not even a 1st party game... -_-' |
1. Pikmin 3 was announced--completely new for Wii. That's in addition to the New Play Controls.
2. Punch-Out is NOT a game that fans who've been loyal to Nintendo for generations would love? LOL!
3. The Jet-Skiing in Wii Sports Resort is supposed to be better than Wave Race, though I wouldn't mind a new WR, either.
4. New Marios and Zeldas are confirmed to be in development.
5. Now our problem is that the third parties are the 'only' ones with good Wii games announced? XD
