Forums - Gaming - Burn the heretic! I like Prince of Persia.

Oh Prince of Persia is OVERLY generous on the restart spots.  Outside of that, I am enjoying the game.  It was worth the $40 I paid for it new, as part of a Gamespot sale.  Is it too easy?  Well, the restart spots are overly generous, but I am finding I am not the best person at doing timed jumping, so it is fine with me.

Anyhow, I remember reading the threads on here that THRASHED the game for being too easy, saying you can't die and so on.  Oh, I see LOTS of dying, just I keep respawning at the restart spots, so it is the same thing.

Anyhow, I like the graphic art style and all that to.  If anyone thrashes this, I am not sure what you want.  I would rather do Prince of Persia then have a game where I want to throw the controller through a wall because I have to keep redoing the same set of jumps over and over, because of respawn sports, or have to start over in the beginning, like in Dead Rising.

So, call me a heretic and burn me.  I don't care.  I like Prince of Persia.  Ok, not at $60 worth I like it, but I do like it at $40.

I am with you, I do like Prince of Persia.
I think it is fresh that you are playing a game where it isn't negative pressure pushing you forward (dieing), but just playing the game.

PoP shares the similar play you saw with the Orb hunt in Crackdown.  I think this is a good thing.  And if someone wants to make the game hardcore, they should come up some achievement/trophy, where the object is to complete the game without being bailed out by your female side kick even once.  I would like to see some hardcore player play through and do that.

Yeah, I don't really understand the hate either.

Well, I payed 65€ and I am also enjoying it. The scenarios are beautiful, the gameplay is smooth and dynamic and collecting light seeds is actually fun and allows you to explore more of the world.

I'd still prefer if it was a continuation of the previous storyline, but it's a cool game nonetheless.

I liked PoP for the first... let's say 6 hours... then it became boring because it was too repetitive, always the same moves, with the same sounds... It's sad because I really enjoyed it in the beginning...

They will know Helgan belongs to Helghasts

Prince of Persia rocks. I love it too!

You can complete the game without dying once, just save frequently and then quit and reload when you do die, though it does take some skill to do all those boss fights without deaths

Anyway, I really enjoyed it as well. It was a game where I could sit back and enjoy all the pretty colours, and just relax.... It did get a little tedious on the second playthrough, and the vines really piss me off because they kill your rhythm, but other than that, I thought it was a fantastic game

the game is OK, but I liked the "sand of time trilogy" better

I like this game alot too. I'm not sure where all the hate comes from. Probably some crazy reviewer said something and the internet just jumped on it. It feels like when one major place reviews a game and says something, whether good or bad, everyone starts saying that.

My main complaint with the game is the how everywhere that you need to jump is all scratched up and blatantly obvious and how you have to mash L trigger like 500 times in order to experience the story. These guys have like zero self confidence in their ability to tell a good tale. I hope that the next one integrates the story more. They aren't bad at it so I don't why they felt like they should make it easy to not experience the story and a burden on the player to experience it.

PS, I have to give a god d****. The cops just pulled over like the 4th person in one hour right in front of my window.
