I still think yourself is to blame as much as the released trailers. They only show you the door, you must walk through it :p

@hyams
now I wished I had not seen MGS4 trailers.
with Killzone 2 I think its too late I have seen too much
BUT this mistake won't happen with FFXIII because:
1. S-E hardly releases anything on it LOL
2. I will resist temptation to watch!!! ESPECIALLY THOSE VIDEO REVIEWS!
For video games what's really helped me is waiting on a lot of releases until at least a year later, after they've hit the bargain bin. Once you're only paying $15-30 and all the hype is long gone good games will still be enjoyable and for me personally the discounted price makes them even better. Recently I've had this type of success with Overlord and Never Winter Nights 2.
Otherwise I know how you feel, I had the same problem with Fallout 3, watch all the trailers, read a ton about it, played it and found it mediocre.
limited yourself to 1 trailer, thats what i do and i still get amazed from time to time.
@markers
that will have to be the future strategy in order to revive amazement & excitment.
I still enjoy playing games....just the thrilling feeling goes.
Age also can do it. I've noticed that I have seen so much out there that I can imagine just about anything they could do in the games, so it is rare to find one that surprises me.
Schedule can also do it. If you are starting and stopping a game continuously, it is hard for it to have that same engrossing wow that it could if you had more time to just sit and play. Also, I find myself having to use guides at times, simply because I wouldn't have time to finish a game if I stopped for an hour on a section.
If it is a PC game, because of both of these reasons, I find myself wanting to mod the game to make it both more interesting and to speed up the process. *sigh*
was surprised at motorstorm pr too.. i mean i played the demo.. then i got the game... and.. WOW holy shit XD it's completely different and a billion times more awesome.. :p
I'm halfway Mirror's Edge and I think its problem is that its not very long and that in like every chapter there is a spot shown in the trailer. It did supprise me that there is e bigger variety of colours than the red and white shown in the demo, it's so beautifull.
maybe nintendo is right in not hyping its games... E3 was still dissapointing though ;)
