The Games of 2009
Over the course of December 2008, we rolled out a month of exclusive previews on some of 2009's biggest games (and a few smaller ones). It wasn't designed as a comprehensive list of everything coming out in 2009, nor a list of our most anticipated games, but rather a countdown of of exclusive previews highlighting many of the year's most promising titles. "2009 looks to be a pretty good year based on what we've seen so far, with Bayonetta, Resident Evil 5, and Uncharted 2 (if it makes it) topping my most wanted list. But the cool titles coming to the Wii also excite me: MadWorld, Muramasa, and Sin & Punishment 2, among others. These prove that the platform can also be great for hardcore gamers." --Sam Kennedy
"I'm hoping God of War 3, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Brütal Legend, Uncharted 2, and Alan Wake make it out in 2009, but at the moment I'm most excited for Heavy Rain, Bayonetta, and Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. Overall a decent list considering the source, but I'm shocked there are no X360 exclusives (or at least X360/PC only)

Also they sem to have forgotten about Death Tank Zwei remake.
I ain't taking lists that have Infamous very seriously, or have Heavy Rain but no Alan Wake.

I was worried when I thought those were their most anticipated titles given that all of my most anticipated games were lacking, but I generally agree with the staff in terms of PS3 games (Uncharted 2 will be out this year) but the lack of Empire Total War is pathetic
Wolverine ??? I Could list at least 10 games which will have reviews below 85% and even better no one cares about them.
The staff picks are much better

I can understand the lack of Alan Wake being a sour point but why would Infamous deserve such discredit? It, along with Prototype are both appearing on a lot of 'Most Anticipated List' for 09; the gameplay looks solid, the graphic looks great and the developer has a good pedigree. I think your slur underserving.

What's so unimpressive about inFamous exactly?
And why should AW need to be included because HR was? We've seen gameplay of HR, but very little of anything of AW.
some odd choices IMO but its what they want.
