Forums - Nintendo - Trading my PS3 for a wii (need game advice)

I have been playing a few Wii games now and I have to admit I have changed my mind a little when it comes to Wii gaming. It isn't as childish as I thought it would be and I am happy I have had the chance to play some of these WII games.

The only sad thing about this trade is the lack of Wii support at my local video stores. They have tons of 360 games, a decent selection for the PS3 but the Wii is severely lacking. WTF is up with that? I would think they would keep the wii section stocked better than any of the other consoles because it sales so many more wiis. Either they don't have no more heroes or it has been rented for nearly a week. I may drive across town to see if I can find it next week. That game looks really fun.

If you hadn't played them on a diferent system : Bully, Resident Evil 4

Wii exclusives- Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime: Corruption, Umbrella Chronicles

I recommend: Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and No More Heroes.

I have rented Mario Galaxy, and my next rental will either be Twilight Princes or No More Heroes if I can find it.

This Nintendo is for kids thing is way over blown. Maybe if you need to have blood every where but not on game play. There are lots of games to play for the wii. You can pretty much go with the lists stated. That's as top notch as any game play on either the 360 or PS3.

No More Heroes, Zelda, Okami, Boom Blox, Brawl, Metroid Prime 3, RE4.

well, if your deciding to rent games, you should BUY super smash bros brawl, and mario kart wii, because those are games you will probably WANT to own forever. they will both probably keep you playing for over 100 hours (especially mario kart, with it's amazing online multiplayer, tournament and time trial leaderboards, and racing other players ghost online.)

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=47568

I don't own the Wii I just traded for a month or 2.  So I will not be buying any games for it unless we decide to trade for good, or I end up buying one for my wife.  She likes it way more than I do, and she is already wanting to try out Wii Fit, but I refuse to even think about buying that for her.  I am sure my cousin would be happy if I did.

@ Aquietguy, I wasn't trying to jab the Wii as being childish, that was just how I saw it from a distance.  While I do think that it is geared for younger people (which isn't a bad thing) it has gotten a bit of a bad rap.  And I was just as guilty of that as most folks who haven't played it much.

Sadly I haven't tried it online yet, maybe if I rent Mario Kart I will give online a go.  Does online have matchmaking or do you need to have a group of friends that play (Mario Kart in particular)?

mario kart wii can match you up with random people in vs races and team battles (sadly free for all battles are gone for some unknown stupid reason.)

super smash bros brawl CAN match you up with random people, but it's not really worth it. it seems that random matches are always laggy as hell for me, and freinds matches are at least bearable. overall, brawls online is crap.

i don't really know about the other games, but i think most online wii games can match you up with random people.

@damnd: Mario Kart doesn't have the type of matcmaking you're used to. When you go online, it puts you to the next race available (and they are on 24/7).

Isn't it funny how it's "kiddy" until the point you play it? Out of the three Wii definately is the one that's suggested to get for kids, but that doesn't rule out the thing that it's suggested for grown ups too.

Disaster: Day of Crisis is a game that i enjoyed (and still do), Wii Music is a game that you should give a try and listen to your wife about Wii Fit (especially if you don't usually get exercise).
