That could be a trophy or something, as well as the Dog from Fable II. As for other characters, Bill from Left4Dead comes to mind..

So none of the other 10-15 characters already mentioned seem like staple MS characters? Dead or Alive? Perfect Dark? Banjo-Kazooie? Viva Pinata? Splinter Cell? Kameo? Mass Effect? Lost Odyssey?

to me it seems that only Nintendo could do a game like this, or like a collection of anime/manga characters like jump superstars.

sony and microsoft just don't have enough of characters that would make the game as neat and fun as smash, it would just seem like a modded shooter game, lol

All you need to do is look back at the smash bros 64 commercial to know how awesome smash brothers is
