It's fake.

You cannot view the folder structure on rockstar's website because visitors do not have access privilege. That means this page is fake - http://games.germanblogs.de/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/folderstructure.jpg

which means the guy is lying and the whole thing is a sham.

A few comments:

1/ As long as anything is "static screens" only, its fake-able. Setup a camera, film GTA4 from the same angle - then switch over to the Wii, and photoshop other screens in. Pretty easy.

2/ Some of the screens looked a *lot* lower detail to me than GTA4 is - and that would be the telling point that its not a fake.

3/ The Wii has been out for ages, T2 has a Wii engine - and GTA was finished many, many months ago. If they can somehow port the engine to the Wii... its not a question of polish.

4/ I can't see any images that show a background level of detail that would be "impossible" on the Wii (lots of cars, lots of background).

I still think its a fake, primarily because its unlikely T2 would allow images like this to get out. But... its not impossible. If anyone could pull this off, it would be T2 with the assistance of Ninty...

Looking over the OP, the follow-up posts, and the blog posting ... here are some thoughts.

Positive
1. The Wii is on, there is a sensor bar, and there is nothing else in view.
2. The person moves, the cursor point on the game moves.

Neutral
3. GTA has never been a graphics powerhouse and the photos are too low of resolution to know how good they really are.

Negative
4. Senor bar is not properly placed (not centered)
5. Person's movements seem unusual/awkward

Damning
6. Directory purporting to hold the images does not exist
www.rockstargames.com/images/wii turns up a 404 (not found)
www.rockstargames.com/images turns up a 403 (access forbidden)

(as does /ps3, /ps2, /gta)

This last point means the article is based upon a naming structure that does not exist.

That doesn't mean anything. Once T2 found out the images were out, they would certainly take down the folder (or block it to public access).

There are lots of reasons this could be fake - this is not one of them.

(the timestamp is from a week ago - plenty of time for an online dir structure to change...).

Take 2 needs several games which will bring in at least $100,000,000 in profit and one of the quickest/easiest ways to get that would be to release games attached to big IPs on the Wii and Nintendo DS.

I'm not sure you understood what I was saying.  I'm not saying it's impossible the "Wii" directory was deleted.  That is possible.

What I'm saying is that the listing of images in the "Wii" directory would have been forbidden from access the whole time (even if the "Wii" folder did exist at one time).  If a webmaster were to create the "Wii" directory, it would not be possible to simply load up its contents in a browser - the parent directory's characteristics (the "images" directory) would pass to the child, and a 403 error would always come up.  The contents of the "Wii" directory would not have been visible.  Period.

Dude you can clearly see the sensorbar is a little to the right under the tv.
