Forums - Gaming Discussion - Hardest games you could not beat

Guess what all... I beat Sonic the Hedgehog 1... YES!!

(scratches Sonic 1 off list of games i could not beat)

But did you get the real ending by collecting all the Chaos Emeralds (note that this isn't the bonus ending, it's the actual read ending to the game)?

The grim reaper is Castlevania is easy to beat if you can make it to him with a triple bommerang/cross. Hurry to the upper left corner while he is appearing, and then launch those bommeragns continously. He'll fall in no time flat.

Arcade TMNT. I usually ran out of quarters before the end ;)

To cash in my CC rewards points for $300 in Circuit City gift cards to purchase a 360 or not: That is the question.

Viewtiful Joe (GC), I really tried to beat it, but got stuck in the las boss, and then I sold my GC so I never got to see the ending.

Metroid Prime in hard mode (got killed by Metroid Prime every time)

The Legend of Zelda the Wind Waker... NOT

I never beat Deadly Towers or Solomon's Key. Several games I did not finish because I got bored with them but those two games on the NES were real bears.

Maybe I'm a loser, but I can't beat that shitty final boss in Metroid Prime 2. Damn you Darks Samus!

I would have to say that the HARDEST game of all time would be Legendary Wings for the NES. You can't get through 2 levels without a continue... Can't believe that nobody has mentioned that game yet... maybe it wasn't very popular...
Other Hard Games (in no particular order):
1. Double Dragon (NES)
2. Batman (NES)
3. Punchout (NES)
4. Pokemon Stadium (n64) - without using your Pokemon from the Game Boy
5. Zelda II (NES) - Couldn't beat "Thunderbird" before Shadow Link
6. Dr. Mario (NES) - past level 20

There are many more, but I just can't think of them right now...

I want my WHOLE paycheck! I support the Fair Tax!

Shadowman for the 64. It was an awesome exploration/retraversal game. I wouldn't be suprised if Retro used it for the blueprint on Prime. But without a map or a hint system, near the end, you have no idea where to go!

I had a crap load of govi's, had Nettie perform the night spell, and killed two of the serial killers. But after two lengthy play throughs of the game, I just couldn't find the rib openers to get to the other seriel killers. At least not without a Guide, and I really don't want to do that. I have a feeling I'll play the game again in a couple months, and if I can't get through it on the third go, I may just break down and check a guide.

Really was an awesome game though. If you ever find a copy (it was also PC and Dreamcast, but the PS1 version sucked), get it!

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

I would go with the following.

Shinobi (PS2)

Lost Magic (DS) Little guy got slaughtered while I was trying to draw ruins.

F-Zero (SNES) Got to the second track and just gave up.

That's all I can think of.

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

You guys need to remember that many old games were designed to be playable in the arcades as well. You cant make a game too easy because it will not eat as many quarters
