Forums - Gaming - Resistance 2 Resistance rollcall.

I am feeling like R2 has been thrashed badly on here.  I haven't tried it, but I find it hard to believe it would be worse than the original Resistance.  Anyhow, I was curious if any people who like Resistance 2 would like to speak up and defend the game.  Someone using sales numbers to bash R2 seems absurd.

Anyhow, do any members of the Resistance 2 Resistance want to speak up?

I love resistance 2, its multiplayer exceeds Resistance 1's multiplayer in any possible way, the only bad things are non-splitscreen for campaign and 2nd player stats that dont get saved (for co-op and competitive), there will be a patch coming out for this game and if it fixes any of these 2 things, the game deserves to be heard for a 100% sure, I still think this game is much better then COD5 but got overshadowed cause of this huge franchise

Currently playing: MAG, Heavy Rain, Infamous

Getting Plat trophies for: Heavy Rain, Infamous, RE5,  Burnout and GOW collection once I get it.

Resistance 2 is better than the first it's improved on every aspect from graphics to it's multiplayer etc but some ppl wer disappointed because some of the features in the first resistance was removed but still I find Resistance 2 a better game.

I really enjoy the game, mostly for the online aspects though.  The 2 gun system is stupid in Single player, no matter what game.  It does, however, work very well in the competitive mode.

I found the campaign to be pretty shallow, but I get way more enjoyment out of online anyways.  The game has fantastic multiplayer aspects to it.  Might be the best online game I've played since Starcraft.... maybe

R2 is fecking awesome, really really fun.

@ epoch: the two gun system is more of a realistic feel. I don't know about you, but I can't really carry 17 guns at the same time.

It certainly improved on the first game. It's not brilliant, but it is very good. Not CoD4 good, but fun to play and worth a purchase.

The star of the show is co-op. The competitive is very good, the campaign... is mediocre at best.

Apparently, though, because it got a 6 from Edge and is not a 5 million seller, it sucks *rolls eyes*

That pretty much sums things up.

The co-op is very fresh for a console shooter, with a class system akin to World Of Warcraft and with constant experience being earned all the time, it fast becomes addictive.

60 player competitive matches can get unbelievably frantic, with carnage on a massive scale.

The single-player is a bit dissapointing though.

Overall, it's a far better experience then the first and it improves upon the original in many ways.

According to some posters though, despite R2 outselling R1 in the same period of time, it's a complete flop.

@ kyliedog: You have to be able to switch your mindset to the game. The setting is aliens and spaceships. Everything else (aside from the increased capabilities gained from the mutation with those genes) is what we know and are capable of in the real world.

Therefore, picking up a shotgun, a machinegun, a LAARK, a pistol, 17 grenades and 700 clips of ammo is a bit much.

Other games don't hinge on this factor and that's just fine, but being restricted (as one should expect) is not a troublesome factor in this game.

I found it better than the first in nearly every way. I guess I'm one of the few who thought it had a much better campaign than R 1.
