Forums - Nintendo - would you buy a remake of Eternal Darkness or Killer 7?

Eternal Darkness would probably benefit from the exposure, but if it were ever to happen, Nintendo should bide their time and see how the likes of MadWorld and HotD sell.

killer7 would be improved in a few ways; Wiimote aiming will obviously be great at shooting the Heaven Smiles' weak points (and that damn Speed Smile), it'd be on one disc, and also have a good chance with those who got into Suda51's work via No More Heroes - they should know that this is another GHM title. I wouldn't trust capcom not to use the RE4Wii engine for it, though :B

If they didn't improve the enemey AI or increase the enemy count in Killer 7 then the Wiimote aiming would break the game. It would be far to easy to complete.

^ As has been said before, Nintendo own the IP

Thats right. Damn...maybe the sequel then for next gen systems. What can I say, I like my survival horror in HD...

Do you mean as in Nintendo's next console (which will be in HD as confirmed by Nintendo long ago)?  Because even a sequel won't find a home on Sony or MS consoles because Nintendo owns the IP.

That has never been answered.

I understand that nintendo owns the rights to the first game and judging by the answer given below, they have a timed ownershit on the IP.

Just because it's a complicated series of circumstances doesn't mean there is no clear ownerhsip of the IP.  It's not a timed "ownershit" (you might want to trademark that phrase) but joint with circumstances.

Nintendo owning the patent on the Sanity Meter itself would keep SK from doing anything with the property even if they owned the IP outright unless they completely did away with it but that's like getting rid of the football in a football game.

If they can line all their ducks in a row, a sequel or remake is possible.  Unfortunately MS has them tied up with the Too Human trilogy and that leaves very little resources available to commit to another big project.

Damn, that sucks. I don't know which one of those bolded ownershits blows more...

I've never played Eternal Darkness so I would probably buy a remake as for Killer 7 I would rather a sequel.

Pacman taught people to run around in dark rooms munching on pills while listening to repettive techno music and for that I somewhat idolise him.
