What for me raised an eyebrow in the speech was how Obama is going to fuel our cars with wind and solar energy within his term (it being 4 or 8 years)

He never said that. He siad we are going to stop using foregin oil as soon as we can, and start utilizing the earth, the sun, the air, and the wind (or something like that) basically he means we will do anything we can- could be electric cars that get energy from nuclear power plants, who knows?
Solar panels on cars currently won't work.

What? Why the hell is 105 million of taxpayers money being spent on his freaking inauguration?! |
Well they shutdown pretty much the whole state for it. You didn't think all those security guards and the like were free did you?
This has been great day. Obama is finally in office. I know with him and the rest of this country will bring the change we've been waiting for.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY
I agree with what most people are saying- the music and speech were great, the poem was terrible.

But to think of the good it would do if it were poured back into the people.
Obama is becoming more of a celebrity than a president. I think the Secret Service would have done well enough.
I didn't watch it, but I will give his speech a 9.
| Words Of Wisdom said: CNN is doing one here. As a fun side note... President Bush's second inauguration cost approximately 42 million dollars whereas Obama's is costing approximately 150 million dollars (45m private donations). There is a record number of 2 million people expected at Obama's. |
What recession then? BTW, I did not watch.

Technically you could if we had electric cars.
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

LOL I know right... funny thing is, 4 years ago the media and the democrats hounded Bush for spending so much on his inauguration saying that he should have toned it down in light of the fact that the country was at war.
Fast forward 4 years later, and no one in the media says boo about how Obama's inauguration costs 3 times as much as Bush's last one did, and we are still at war AND we have a little economic crisis as well.
But hey, the important thing is enough money was spent so that they could have Jay-Z and Bono and Bruce Springsteen entertain the O-bots, not to mention all the security needed for over 2 million people to watch a black man get sworn into office lol.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
