I can not believe people are still posting in this thread like its a big deal... and onyxneth if that music thing is true then maxim is really stupid and all these tolls are rediculous

Oh it's true all right. So before anyone actually praises these reviews, question whether Maxim even has the game to review. Here is my proof if anyone was doubting me:

Nas' Reaction

http://www.spinner.com/2008/02/27/nas-chews-out-maxim-after-premature-review/

Looks like rapper Nas and the Black Crowes have something in common ... besides their connection to all-star classic rock. The New York-based rapper was jarred, much like Chris Robinson and Co., when the lad mag -- known for its revealing pics of female actresses and models -- gave his upcoming album a 2 1/2-star review.

The rap star, who's been making hits since the mid '90s, wasn't dismayed by the thought of receiving a less than stellar critique, but was instead surprised that Maxim could even have an opinion on the incomplete project. A music reviewer at Maxim panned the Crowes' new album, 'Warpaint,' in the same fashion, and later admitted that he never even heard the LP.

The Crowes were bothered, to say the least, by the faux review. Nas, on the other hand, isn't as perturbed by the magazine's insubstantial opinion of his new project ... especially since the rapper hasn't even finished it.

"I'm finishing the album now, and it will be out April 22," Nas told the New York Post's Page Six. "I'd prefer [a review from] Playboy," Nas said. "That kind of stuff doesn't reach my radar or effect anybody around me. I don't know what a music rating from Maxim is ... I don't know what it even means really."

The Black Crowes themselves are not letting Maxim wriggle off the hook quite as easily as Nas seems to have. The wronged rockers have rejected the magazine's explanation for its non-review review and are demanding a public apology, calling the conciliatory words it has offered "self-serving damage control."

Counting Crows Reaction

http://www.cbc.ca/arts/music/story/2008/02/24/blackcrowes-review.html

The Black Crowes say an album review by Maxim magazine was fabricated because advance CDs were not available.

The critique, published in Maxim's March issue, gives the Crowes' Warpaint a rating of 2½ stars out of five.

"The writer — who has not heard the album, since advance CDs were not made available — wrote what appears to be a disparaging assessment anyway, citing, 'it hasn't left Chris Robinson and the gang much room for growth,' " said a statement on the band's official website.

The band's manager, Pete Angelus, said the band raised the issue with Maxim, which, he said, responded in an e-mail with the following: "Of course, we always prefer to [sic] hearing music, but sometimes there are big albums that we don't want to ignore that aren't available to hear, which is what happened with the Crowes. It's either an educated guess preview or no coverage at all, so in this case we chose the former."

Maxim, which has not confirmed the authenticity of the e-mail message to Angelus, released this statement in response: "Maxim will continue to provide our readers with information that is important to them, whether it is about fashion, lifestyle, technology, music, movies and more."

"It's a disgrace to the arts, journalism, critics, the publication itself and the public," Angelus said.

"What's next — Maxim's concert reviews of shows they never attended, book reviews of books never read and film reviews of films never seen?"

Warpaint marks the band's first album in seven years and is set for release March 4. The blues-rock group has released only one song from the disc, Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution.

selnor don't make me laugh harder than I already am. Yeah the person who reviewed 50cents game might love being a wannabe gangster. doesnt mean its a better game

I didnt say it was a better game. Everyone has their own opinion of what the best game is.

What my point was is that alot of people here (not everyone) will believe nothing else other than AAA for KZ2 because of hype. Whereas the average guy and gal wont have that influence. These guys who reviewed this probably never heard of the game before.

lol @ your sig,,,I guess kingdom under fire is a sequal to one of the greates games ever ,,,oh wait ,no it isn't,,,it's rated much much lower than first killzone .

it's rated at 5.5

guys stop fighting we cant say that the game is going to flop in reviews if there arent many reviews or that is going to have amazing reviews we need to wait for more reviews athough so far from the reviews i saw in the link that spartan posted before all of them are great but we need to wait for more reviews.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!! so maxim might not even have a copy... bwahahaha

thanks now i think ill reread this thread and peoples comments and have a gay ol time

I personally find this kind of funny ...

Even most of the best games, developed by developers which have long track records of producing "perfect" games receive scores in the 70% range. Anyone who expected a game produced by a developer who has a less than stellar track record, that is in one of the most competitive genres out there, to be so perfect that it wouldn't receive quite a few 70% scores should be called a delusional fanboy.

Ummm...if you mean Circle of Doom, that not the first one. That's the fourth one. Kingdom Under Fire II is technically the fifth game in the series. Two of the games have Metacritics higher than Killzone and two don't. I know you were trying to make a point though, so sorry.

I will also just point out that no game that has ever reached AAA status and amazing sales has ever been hyped up to the massive.

Look at the original

Half Life

Halo

GTA

Gran Turismo

Far Cry

Mario Kart

Gears of War..... etc etc...

Look at big hyped games

LBP

KZ

Too Human

Daikatana

Etc...etc....

These games never reached amazing sales, you cant create a groundbreaking sales selling monster with hype. These monster sellers just appear, they happen. Same with films. Look at The Matrix, they released that 4 months apart from Episode 1 Phantom Menace. The Producers didnt epect alot in sales at all.

I'm pretty sure too human was not hyped. In fact, it was the butt of many jokes.

Hell, before the launch of it, there was only one hype thread about it on vgchartz.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Yeah, many took a "wait and see" approach to the game.  Gears of War, however, was extremely hyped.  I'm not sure why he's saying it wasn't.

I can't believe it. 21 pages?!?!?!
One review does not mean the game will be bad. It also doesn't mean they are bad reviewers. It's their fucking opinion and no one has to agree with it.

Wow... just wow. I wonder how I'm still amazed at the reaction of some people. Some posts I saw... I don't even feel like replying right now.
