Forums - Sony - 2009: Will the PSP strike back in the west?

In the west, the PSP isn't gonna be taking off anytime soon.

...I wonder if the same will be said about the PS3 at this time in its lifecycle.

Either way, if you think the PSP's library is anywhere near remotely good, then you need to buy a DS, drop your bias, and begin to enjoy the best handheld, possibly ever created. It's upcoming library of japanese-centric games blows the PSP out of the water and then shoots it two times in the air. You think I'm kidding?

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

The PSPs library is good, and the DSs' is better, but there's nothing wrong with preferring one over the other.  >_>

psp is jrpg land now.

all ps2 games are jumping there. persona .hack, final fantasy, monster hunter.

no psp is pretty much dead.
even a zelda exclusive wouldn't help it.

@ MANUELF

It shocks you that people have different opinions?

I stand by less than 2 million sales not being a 'massive flop'.

Just compared to the money they would have been able to make with a PSP title.

I dont think a PSP2 will be out anytime soon, if it does come out it will be the biggest stupidest move SONY could do.

1) Economy is shit
2) PS3 is loosing money
3) PSP2 will do nothing but loose money it launched at this early stage
4) DS will still keep killing it.

It's certainly not impossible. Didn't PSP sell more in 2008 than it did in 2007, and with no price drop, or big games in Q4 2008 to boot?
