Forums - Sony Discussion - PS3 no harder to develop for than 360- Ubisoft!

Unless they're trying to say that the PS3 can't do AI well, and the reason isn't because they just don't know how to do it.

Around the Network

A developer said something that his company wishes he hadn't said. This is damage control.

This doesn't change the fact that that developer wasn't happy with the PS3's architecture.

"Ho! Haha! Guard! Turn! Parry! Dodge! Spin! Ha! Thrust!" -- Daffy Duck

One team says something not directly quoted that the interviewer interprets as a statement that the PS3 can't handle AI as well as the 360.

Another team says, "PS3 is not harder to develop for than the 360."

THESE ARE NOT MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE STATEMENTS.

Example: Team A at game company X says "Wii graphics are not as good as PS3 graphics." Team B at X says "The Wii is easier to develop games for than the PS3." Both these statements are true.

P.S. I am not confident that the interviewer reliably relayed the interviewee's words, but even if he did, it doesn't matter here, as proven above.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

I have the most epic death scene ever in VGChartz Mafia.  Thanks WordsofWisdom!

Actions speak louder than words. Lets see how Ubisoft's PS3 games actually turn out.

@z64

The demo came out, its the same thing, the graphics arent impressive(sometimes I cant believe its a ps3 game). I would think they would at least try to make it look like the cgi trailer, but we get another 360 port.

Wow... this thread isn't flamebait....

Here's a video from my band's last show Check out more (bigger) videos here http://www.youtube.com/user/icemanout

So a thread where a developer complains about the PS3 is great, but one where a developer doesn't is bad. Noted.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Duh.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Well to bad that Ubisoft isnt what it used to be . Maybe than I would have cared what there opinion is . Oh 2003 , where are you ?

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I think all the Third Parties are playing a juggling act between Microsoft and Sony. Each one doesnt want to be involved in the console war, how many times have you seen reps from them say it. GTA 4 is delayed on both systems because rockstar cant favor x360. Then you have Epic trying to calm the UT3 about issues they are having with the 360 version. This is just another example of a third party attempting not pissing off sony or microsoft by appearing to favor one system or the other. The console war between the 2 have become vicious, and third parties are trying not to become pawns in it.
