Who says you can't take a launch 20gb PS3 online?

Probably nobody, because the 20gb has an ethernet port.

Well that's a bit surprising. I did know that Sony was pretty open-minded with accessory but an Xbox WLAN adapter? That's unexpected. Of course it's not a bad thing. Now if only MS would take the same attitude... But that's another thing.

Very cool. I'm reccomend that to a friend.

I have been reading stuff about the adapter - some say use an Xbox or a 360 - that's what I used. It already had the drivers on the 360 - the Xbox driver CD wouldn't boot in the 360. Still, if you want to go wireless with your PS3, PS2 or 360 and don't want to buy an expensive adapter, this is a fine alternative. It uses 802.11a, b and g. Doesn't do N, though.

@ Outlawauron - sweet. Tell your peep to keep the receipt. You could also flip it for like $50-$55. I may snag a few just to flip and get more games - or save up for my cruise this summer.

isn't the xbox wireless adapter way overpriced?

Yeah, but you can get a used one for $70. I paid $35.99 for my wireless adapter. As I stated earlier, to get online wirelessly with a 20gb PS3, your options are rather limited. This solution is a great workaround without running cables all over the place.

I am online with my 360 but I have the DSL router in the same room, just inches away. I wanted to get an adapter for my PS3 and one for my 360, and move my router back downstairs, but then I started thinking about keeping it where it is because I also bought 2 USB wifi adapters and don't need to move it now. For now, all my consoles are online.
