Forums - General Discussion - Israel Declares Cease Fire...Hamas Says it will keep fighting.

Hamas is going to keep fighting because they didn't agree to the ceasefire..... not much of a ceasefire. I'm sure Germany would've liked to be able to declare a cease fire in 1945...

It's good that the troops stay. Should rocket fire resume, the operation will also resume.

And if you ask "what has been ahieved", then I can tell you a lot of the Hamas brass has been wiped out. They'll act a lot more unorganized now. Plus, they'll think thrice before trying to smuggle any weapons again.

u really shoud listen to what the Israeli govermnet were saying when they first started my friend.

"we will not stop untill the firing stops" or "Hammas is not going to be able to fire rockets when we are done here"

"this is gonna be a very short war"

so yeah , nothing has been achieved

troops are there > the war is still going and the short war mission failed

22 days and hammas is still firing rockets >  failed

Notice that the Hamas's rocket fire is weakening by the day. Ammo must be running out... count that in as objective achieved. I have a chart somewhere, ask me if you wanna see it.

As long as the troops stationed aren't fighting, there can't be war. I'd call the situation now a "semi-war".

Also, don't tell me you'd prefer it to continue.

where are the defenders?
22 days of killing and nothing has been accomplished

Other then numerous terrorist leaders being killed.

Either way they can just sit troops in bases and kill Hamas operatives stupid enough to attack them and use them as new justication "see we stopped but these people can't be reasoned with."

Hamas will likely swallow the bait too.

There was probably more Israeli soldiers killed than 'terrorist leaders'.

Yeah.  Like... 10 to 3 I want to say.

They could of kept up and just kept bombing and then they wouldn't of lost anybody.  But hey they wanted to lower the innocent casualties caused by Hamas using human shields... still at really high rates since well.  It's nearly impossible to run a "clean" war when the other side is willing to use it's people as human shields and fire from the same places people are taking shelter.

goals were clear, and they are not achieved.

hammas running out of ammo is an achievement?

I don't know about the chart u r talking about but till the 15th day of this war the rocket firing has increased , didn't follow the number of rockets any further so u may inform me plz =)

red bolded part: no no no, this is good for the palestinian people there although taragdies and disasters won't go away any time soon.

all I'm saying is: 1- Israel has not achieved their goals.

2- Islamic world is pissed and funding for hammas and such groups will increase.

3- many civilians died , many injuried badly.

so nothing good came out of this war for Israel and the palestinian people, the same can't be said about hammas.

I believe that there always be groups like Hammas and Hezb Allah , groups that Israel will have to deal with so Israel and America have to reconsider the way they solve problems because the killing of innocent people never did solve them.
