would you consider being outsold by xbox360 as losing this gen?

i started this thread to see if any else felt like winning this gen wasnt just sales.

For me, losing this generation would be Sony announcing that they will cease production of the ps3 and games for it, long before the 10yr plan comes to an end and also confirm that there will never be a ps4.

I don't care if they lose in sales because as far as I'm concerned the PS3 will win when it comes to games.

When it is no longer my favorite console which does not seem likely at this point.

The answer is losing a lot of third party games completely

The question was, what would I consider a defeat and for me Sony feeling they are riding a sinking ship and ditching the ps3 long before they realise the plans they have for it and being so disillusioned, they decide to pull out of the gaming market.
Maybe that's just me but I would class that a defeat.

hmmm let see, when every asian kid i know is on the 360 is when i know ps3 has failed big time, right now half and half of my asian friends have 360 and half got ps3, well actually a little more then half has a 360 so its more like around 30 percent of them has a ps3 and as ps3 being the "asian console" once all asians switch to 360 ps3 will surely be done. i say asian console because every asian i know has a ps2 and no xbox, and when 360 came out every asian i knew then had a ps3, many switch some didn't which are the 30 percent i'm referring too. and i feel the ps3 is a disgrace, however dont confuse it with me saying it sucks, its good but disgrace in that how does the best selling system ever since ps1 get raped by a newbie like the 360. so yea that is my definition of disgrace.

Well there 10 year plan is gone, forget about it.. The only reason the PS3 may be around for a long time is the fact this generation will probably drag on longer than in previous years but it won't hit close to 10 years

Also if Sony announced they were not making a PS3 would that have made the PS2 a failure in your eyes?
