The PS3 can outsell the 360 by more than 50,000 a week easily. Factory in Holiday sales, and though I don't think it will happen, it could pass the 360 by the end of 2010.

Your missing out on alot of things with that post, first of all you didn't take into account the holidays and secondly the X360 is going to start selling less then the PS3 because it's been out for a year longer then the PS3 and third of all once the PS3 get's its price cut and many top exclusive games it'll be outselling it by far more then 50,000K a week.

Actually it is very much possible for the PS3 to still pull ahead of 360. If you have been paying attention to the last few weeks of sales, the 360's selling dominance from the Christmas season has subsided. PS3 is locked at 8 million to a little bit less behind the 360. PS3 has really big hitters this year, better then last year, that can definitely bring sales up. 360 has a few games, but nothing to match the PS3 library of games this year.

And don't forget the price cuts. PS3 has already proven that even without matching price with the 360 dollar for dollar, it can sell better then it at a slightly higher price tag. Christmas was a biproduct of them dropping price just out of PS3's range. If Sony drops price again it will be back to where we were. If they are smart they will also slash price again just before Christmas time like MS last year.

I doubt 360 will drop below 200 this year either. The higher skued ones might drop but not that much.

So in turn...
-PS3 price cut (50-100) early 09
-Barrage of good software this year
-More aggressive marketing
-PS3 price cut (50-100) late 09

=PS3/360 gap shrinking to about 5-4 million

P.S.

from there it, PS3 should have no problem in 10-12 closing the rest of the gap between them. And mark my words, if PS3 gains lead over 360, the 360 will never touch second place again this gen.

Whats up with these false statements PS3 can't catch up to the 360 at least my threads are just me pondering about stuff or just me thinking wat will happen

Using math doesn't really work for stuff like this just look at TWRoOs ten week countdown i used not a single math furmula or any mathematics for my #'s and i ended up dominating and for those saying it was luck, luck doesn't get u 4 week strait wins and 5 week wins thats half of the competition won by me

Things u should ponder

1st if the ps3 gets a price cut this april there won't be these large 10+ mill gaps everybody's thinking.  If the price cut happens this early the gap will barely  reach 9.5 mill

2nd Wats this 50k ps3 outsells 360 a week thing once games like FF, GT5, SF4,  RE5 come out in JP the gap in just JP will be 50k or more a week

3rd Didn't u see how fast 360 enlarged it's gap with the ps3 it was like 2.5 mill in like 3 months and EU doesn't really prefer the MS consoles and 360 only had a 50-80$ price drop it's likely that ps3 will C a 100$ price cut b4 the year ends

4th MS will not release a new console as soon as you think the 360 is pretty successful and a new MS console priced at 400-500 will not sell well wen there will be a ps3 that has a blu ray player with a 199$ price tag by then

With this data i can confindently say the ps3 gap with the 360  will b gone b4 2011 begins

but the ps3 sold over the year better than 2007.

also 2007 ps3 had a price cut. in 2008 it didn't.

360 would have underperform it wasn0t for the price cut and 2 in europe the same year.

just cuz a new console will be released doesnt mean the older ones will stop selling. hello ps2. and ps3 will should end at least 1 year after 360 because it was released a year earlier.
