but the thing is

I didn't think ANYONE cared about Mortal Kombat anymore

Series like Mortal Kombat and Sonic that tried really hard to be "Cool" in the early 90s ended up aging pretty poorly, but there is still a ton of people who have very fond memories of these games. When there is a crossover with another series that has amazing popularity (Mario because of the DS/Wii’s popularity, DC Universe because of recent success with Superman and Batman movies) this adds a new found relevance to these series and their old fanbase becomes interested.

Because LBP is a failure, as is the PS3.

Is that what you wanted?

Also because it doesn't start with "Wii".

Which is what you really wanted.

I bought MK VS DC, 3 other people on my friends list who I didn't know liked MK bought it too, you should all play it before calling it a POS.

Because this Gen has been nothing but "shocking"....

4 ≈ One

Because NPD overtracked MK vs DC and undertracked LBP just like they undertracked Wii

BTW what it MK vs DC?

Considering it is VG Chartz, maybe it is Mario Kart vs DreamCast.  It is a game that pits the entire Dreamcast lineup of characters vs those in Mario Kart, in an all out mini-game competition, that also includes Kart Racing.  And please don't let Sega see this or they will think about doing it, to come up with the last nail in Sonic's coffin.  Wait, maybe that isn't a bad idea.  Sega could then sell Mario to Nintendo, and Nintendo do a decent Sonic game.

Ok, anyone here want to debate whether or not MK vs DC will outsell Killzone 2?

Well I wouldn't just single out LBP, your title makes it seem like LBP failed so miserably that even MK vs DC beat it.

MK vs DC was #2 on the PS3 list (LBP #3), I really don't know it beat out every other game on PS3 besides Call of Duty. Vgchartz numbers make sense, but I guess we were really undertracking it.
