This may sound crazy, but I think they'res some truth to it. Don't use your bed for anything other than sex and sleep. My friend has major sleep issues because he practially lives on the thing. He eats, plays video games, reads books, etc etc etc on his bed, and someone told him it's a mental thing. It's his place of living, not of rest. I find that as soon as I get comfy in bed, I'm out withing seconds, I only use my bed for those two things of course.

Another thing you can do, which is something I also happen to do, which might not be all that great mind you, but I only get about 5 hours a sleep at night. And I stay awake the entire day, when I go to bed, I'm usually exhausted, and I drop right into my "deep sleep". I dunno, food for thought!

I usually bash one out right before bed, as it releases all of the toxins required to put you in a resting state.

You cant quite do the same but you can sort of...

i have problems with sleep and often go several days only getting a couple hours of sleep every other day or so. but my problems comes from having very stressful responsibilities do to my job and traveling often from the U.S to UK to Germany, Canada and so on.
 
you might want to see a doctor about this and see if together you can find out what the cause of this is whether its stress, chemical imbalance or other things that might cause your lack of ability to get the proper amount of sleep.

LOL, my first response was almost:

then I re-read the OP and realized my mistake.


Anyway for insomnia... i take histamine blockers that DO cross the Blood Brain Barrier, such as old school benedryl. They are over the counter, very effective since histamine plays an important role in circadian cycles, and are cheap since the newer "non-drowsey" ones are where the money is at.

1st don't eat anything 4 or more hrs b4 u go to bed
2nd make sure ur pillow is comfortable for u
3rd don't do anything that cause u stress b4 u go to sleep like open up bills in ur mail even not checking this website out as some threads cause stress or playing VG
4th that's write don't use ur bed for anything other than sleep
5th wake up early like 8 a.m. get into a cycle for ur sleep time go to bed the same time every day wake up the same time
6th do more exercise but 4-5hrs b4 u sleep as it increases ur heart rate and that will make u not go to sleep
7th wen u can't go to sleep take deep breaths slowly to slow down ur heart rate

8th don't sleep during the day

9th go to ur vitamin shope and buy source naturals melatonin pills or spray make sure its the sublingual meaning it timed release

do all those things the melatonin should put u into a coma sleep wise but make sure u do all those things and not to rely on the melatonin as it's healthy to do the aboved mention for other things for ur health rather than just for sleep

I have had similar problems, it usually happens after I've stayed up a whole night a few days ago or just something fucking up with my Cyrcadian Rythm. I've found that not sleeping a night, and then not taking a nap during the day will do it. The next night you will touch your pillow and be asleep within minutes. Also put effort into not thinking about anything, that also helps.
