I've said all along that Namco were destroying their franchise by releasing it on XB360 exclusively.
They're not alone in doing that, others are doing the same stupid things.
Mistwalker already completely destroyed their brand, should have been a clear warning to everyone with sense.
Most JRPG on XB360 are sold like they are system sellers, which just is not the case.
Serves them right.
I've based my predictions a bit on my feelings, which usually are well aligned with JRPG sales.
Don't even count on Europe to pull this game up. I know pretty well what most europeans think, and even in the most anime friendly country of Europe (France), the XB360 audience think these kind of games are crap, to a point of hating them. Some even told me they bought FF games but thought they were crap and that people buy them because it's a fad and cool. So imagine what they think of games like Tales Of.

Also, it's pretty obvious that the "West will make up for the bad sales of our JRPG" just won't cut it.

I'm back to thinking FF will flop (relatively, I think it will sell 3 M tops) despite being released on 2 consoles.

@ookaze , mistwalker hasnt destroyed their brand by being on the 360. without m$ their wouldnt be a mistwalker studio, since m$ gave them the money to get their company going in the 1st place. also "lost odyssey" in my opinion the best rpg this gen by far and one of the best of all time, is almost at 900k in sales and for a system not known for rpg's that pretty damn good.

Yups, after seeing WKC sales in JP eclipse this game's WW sales, I would hope that JRPG developers would use their noggins and multi-plat games.  This game should have been that since the beginning, as should have TLR, IU, and ES.

But oh well, guess they've learned their lesson.

Smaller budgets too. Well, namco learned its lesson and hopefully all the non handheld tales game will be wii. I bet if all the other bi 360 rpgs and VC were on wii, the companies would have made a much larger profit. With DQ X though, I expect the trend to be wii rpgs.

Oh yeah, japanese devs. I just love them, there are so few games coming from japan that interest me even a little bit and now they discontinue (won't be releasing in eu?) one of them. That sucks.

Don't forget Blue Dragon is at 600k with outdated EU numbers.

@barozi , thanks for the info about "blue dragon". i liked that game, so for 2 new ip's selling so far combined over 1.5 million. thats pretty damn good.
