The problem with the PS3 was that I didn't find any of their exclusives interesting at all. Uncharted, Little Big Planet, Resistance, Killzone, Metal gear Solid..... Sure I've HEARD that they were great games. By almost everyone... But that was the thing. The only thing that had me beleiving in whether the game was good or not was just word of mouth. None of those games really pulled me in gameplaywise.  They looked good, sure, but I was never a person who cared too much about graphics.

I just have to say good job to Microsoft this time around, getting me, a total Nintendo fanboy, yes. A fanboy on VGCHARTZ, to get multiple consoles. I am seriously enjoying Tales of Vesperia and gears.

Halo, however I think looks and plays like crap. Shoot me. It's booooooring. That's why I don't trust the word of mouth.

 

You took the words right out of my mouth, except I and millions of others DO enjoy Halo, but to each their own opinion.  Same here though, Little Big Planet is the only PS3 game I like a lot so far.

congrats on getting the Microsoft Xbox 360. Only on xbox 360 can you find AAA titles including mass effect which features compelling storytelling and halo 3 which features one of the best multiplayer experiences on console gaming today.

To really appreciate Halo 3, you should play the 1st and 2nd. It's like MGS4, unless you have played the rest you wont really get the buzz, as it's Masterchiefs finale. IMO Halo 3 is one of the best games Ive ever played, rarely does a game have a great sci fi story like the Halo series.

 Dude you wont last long. This is your opinion. The OP's choice wasnt bad, it just wasnt your choice. Plenty of people disagree with you. Gears 2 IMO is the best 3rd person shooter this gen. And I think the sales speak for themselves. Saying that, MGS4 is NOT a 3rd person shooter. It's a stealth game. The 2 are played so differently.

And seriously M$ 2009 lineup is already brilliant, with M$ saying there is 9 unannounced exclusives yet for 2009.

Halo ODST

Star Ocean TLH

The above are killer apps. Hardly a bad list of top titles so far, and even if 4 of the unannounced 9 are classed as killer to, then M$ have an average of 1 killer app game a month. More than 360 last year. Personally I cant wait for the 360 games this year.

Both systems have a catalog of good games. My personal preference is the 360's library, but it's hard to discount MGS4, LBP, Uncharted, and a few others. My biggest problem with the PS3 is the lack of online shooters I really enjoy. I think MGO is a pile of crap (my opinion) while the Gears franchise has really sold me on the 360.

To each their own. As you said, MS has done a fine job of bringing developers to their system this generation.

That game isn't even rated on Metacritic, it got a 5 from IGN, why would you reccomend somebody that :S

I chose 360 because it's cheaper, to some that might seem like a wrong reason to choose, but I think it's the best reason ....... all in all suckmyballs

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

d. SEGA back in the console business
