I am delaying my third playthrough of the best PS3 exclusive this gen because of rumours of a trophy patch. However I was loosing hope when Sony announced that in 2009, trophies are mandatory in all games.

If I am not mistaken, MGS2 and MGS3 were re-released as Substance/Subsistence. IF, IF, MGS4 is re-released, it would be in 2009 or later.

Since trophies are mandatory from 2009, MGS4 re-release would have to have trophies and not patching the normal version would make die hard fans (like me) VERY ANGRY. They will have to patch it and we would be earning trophies soon! 

I could be wrong though......

Isn't mandatory trophy support on new games? So I'm guessing we will start to see trophies on all new games from here on in. I'm not sure if the mandatory trophies have to be retrospective. I hope mgs4 gets it though. It will be my 5 play thru

If they release a re-release of the game in 2009 or 2010, the re-release has to have trophies. They might patch the original game if this happens.

I hope that MGS4 will be trophy-patched. I just played it once. Usually I play every MGS game 5 or 6 times.
But Konami already lied about trophies for pes2009 so I dont trust them anymore.

It'll get trophies when Kojima deems it worthy of trophies (ie when they finish working out the trophies, maybe when it crosses 4 million...)

im delaying my 1st play through b/c of this i usually do alot in my 1st play through so i don't want my 1st play through with mgs4 to b like my 1st play through of gta4 as i did everything in it only to do it again wen it got patched

so im hoping it gets them soon

Best game I've ever played. I'd love to see trophies added. But I waited all I was going to wait. I am currently playing through the game on Boss hard. Hopefully they will patch it in soon.

I wish Konami would announce their intentions one way or the other. I would like to play it again, but I am waiting to see if they will have trophies.

Konami recently trademarked "Metal Gear Solid Existence" which sounds like a re-release to me, "exclusive" trophies are just another way to sell it.

Kojima won't allow that to happen I'm sure. If he does he turns from game developer hero into a money hungry fan betraying jackass. I'm pretty sure he won't.
