1) What is your favorite type of games?
RPGs
2) What is your favorite Game?
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
3) What are your favorite type of movies?
Sci-Fi epics (Something along the lines of Star Wars and such)
4) Has your favorite game gotten a movie adaption? Did you like it?
No. IGN did a fake trailer of the series though, and thankfully it was fake.
5) What Video Game based movies have you seen? Have you liked any of them? Hm... To begin...
Super Mario Bros. The Movie- So bad, it's funny. So to a decent extent.
Wing Commander- It was okay, not too great but okay.
Silent Hill- Okay, but too slow.
Resident Evil: Apocalypse (the first few minutes at least)- Got bored after the first few minutes I didn't care anymore.
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children- Oh yeah... Pure $*# this movie was.
Doom- Bleh...
Pokemon: The First Movie- Loved as a kid, ashamed to admit it now.
Pokemon 2000- See above
Pokemon 3 The Movie- See above
Pokemon 4Ever- See above
Pokemon: Mewtwo Returns- See above
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within- For what it was, it was pretty good I thought at least.
Dead Space: Downfall- Pretty decent introduction to the Dead Space universe. I want to play the game now.
Grand total of 4.
6) Explain what you liked or disliked about the ones you have seen.
Super Mario Bros. The Movie- They got everything wrong, the setting was absurd, the humor was in your face-ish, and it was bad enough to be worth a good laugh.
Wing Commander- It was like a naval battle in space, though the story wasn't too memorable.
Silent Hill- Great visuals, slow pace, some notably grotesque scenes though.
Resident Evil: Apocalypse- The first few minutes felt like the entire movie.
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children- The visuals, the voice acting, the action, the sound, the story, the music, what's not to like?
Doom- Stupid. Took out the concept of Hell, tried to incorporate the human genome controversy into it, and the whole movie felt really generic. It was well casted I thought, but way too generic.
Pokemon: The First Movie- Loved as a kid just for the sake of it being Pokemon. Now I know what a good story and competent voice acting are, so there's not much here for me.
Pokemon 2000- See above
Pokemon 3 The Movie- See above
Pokemon 4Ever- See above
Pokemon: Mewtwo Returns- See above
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within- Good attempt to bring Final Fantasy to the movie going masses, I liked the story and the interaction of the characters.
Dead Space: Downfall- Animation was dated, but I liked the blood and it offered as a back story to the actual game.
7) What do you think could be improved?
Doom- Make the movie darker, rawer, scarier, bring in the concept of Hell, and don't be afraid to scare the daylights out of people with the grotesqueness.
Silent Hill- Pick up the pace and don't be so slow.
Resident Evil: Apocalypse- Don't try to copy the feel of the actual game itself, it ends up being too slow and derivitive.
8) Will you ever go see a video game based movie again? Why?
Maybe, but not anytime soon. This is the list of choices coming up from 2009 to 2010.
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li
Far Cry
Pokémon Diamond & Pearl Platinum the Movie: To the Conquering of Space-Time
Tekken
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
The King of Fighters
9) What video games would you like to see adapted into a movie, done well? Why?
The Darkness (Xbox360)- This games story was up there with the likes of Spider-Man and X-Men. If they don't jerk around and make it as cool as it was in the game, it could be awesome.
The Legend of Spyro (series)- It's being made, but I would really like to see a movie that does this series justice. The story in the series is very engaging and interesting along with a nice cast.
Ace Combat (series)- If done well, it could be a cool action flick about dogfights and wars.
The rest I would like to see I think would have to be done as a series if they were to be done properly.
